69 Chevelle, 421" sbc, iron heads, naturally aspirated, turbo 400 w/ 4k stall, chevy 12 bolt 3.91 gears, ford style axle ends, true street car, drives 45 miles each way to race track. My first car, had it since 1996.

Only on trailer when trans grenaded, 2004 Silverado LT, sold it to myself at Chevy brand new, wiper blades and tires, battery finally last year, this truck has been my best purchase ever :thumbsup

The Rx7 is pretty bitchen, I would like a CTS-V Wagon as a daily driver.

I don't get her out much (31k miles) but fun to drive when I do. The wife says I'm just about old enough for that Corvette...

This is part of the fleet.. The Model A sedan has been in the family since 1973. The crew cab has a compound turbo cummins swap. The Camaro is my attention Whore for the business. Vortech supercharged 406. Ran 9.60 @ 143 on pump gas. The wagon is the daily driver. Supercharged Ls swap. The special bus has been upgraded with a compound turbo cummins and air ride.. Honda trail 70. Technically it lives in the living room. And the 49 Mercury.. pretty much a real clean stocker..

I need to come take a ride or talk gt500's

I'm considering one as a semi daily driver.

2011 or 2012 are the best bang for the buck. They have the aluminium block. Get one with the recaro seats if you can.

Yep....that's the plan

Seems you can find a clean one in the mid 30's now.

I'm 10 months out so we will see where 13-14 values are at that point but I'm thinking a clean 2012 with a vpm tvs swap and 650-700 to the wheels will be fun.

13-14 is cool but the car is almost undriveable with all the power unless you are just playing on the freeway. Although an 11 or 12 with 650-700 to the wheels will be too so it's all the same :) the TVS is a great swap.

A buddy had a sweet '12 he sold. Silver track pack with stripe delete and Recaros. Total sleeper.

If you wanted to dial it back, a '13 or '14 GT track pack is a great car for the money with a couple mods. 95% of a Boss 302 for about 60% of the price.

Still trying to figure out what I want....I want a car that's going to somewhat hold its value so I can sell it without getting killed if I get bored.

Last week I was thinking about a 2013 boss 302 with a pro charger.

No idea but I will be driving it to work 3x a work and I want something fun somewhat comfortable without scary mpg. I would consider a ctsv coupe but everyone I know that has one claims they get laughable mpg.

A supercharged Mustang gets about the same MPG as a CTS-V. The 5.0 is decent on gas. Even with the 3.73s my friends 5.0 gets 20-21 on the highway at 80. My CTS-V gets about 19 on the highway at 80, 12-13 around town.

Fun car.

New ones are IRS, I don't know where I stand on that yet.

They had the solid axle pretty dialed. There is no doubt the newer 15+ cars are much nicer in ride and interior but I'm not spending 40k on a car that will be worth 20k in 2.5 years.

I want a driver/toy that will hold its value and be a little more special than average hence the Shelby or boss.

I think the Boss will hold value better than the Shelby. There are quite a few Shelbys around and they were made for many years. The fact that they are continuing to make new Shelby variants won't help the price.

You can buy a 13-14 GT for under $30k, keep it and use it for a few years and sell it for a $5k loss.

They had the SRA dialed in ok, but the new IRS is better in every way unless all you are gonna do is drag race it.

Kind of my thinking with the boss..some of my concerns are the tranny seems to have issues and isn't all that strong. I also think I have seen only 1 that had factory navigation.

I couldn't do a 2012 because they didn't even have sync. No phone integration would be a deal killer for me.

The MT82 isn't bad. Some have had issues, but on a used one if it has some miles and has not had problems you are probably good. The do need upgraded shifters though.

'13 or '14 boss or GT are the ones to get hands down. Best of the s197 chassis.
