As the title says, let’s see those home office desks. With our new home in St. George I have a full dedicated office now and want to redo my desk

Work on the left, play on the right. Desk is just a Wayfair special.

I've always liked those airplane wing style desks! I might get one when I finish pimping out the new house.

Cool fact, I own a copy of a picture of the Concorde flying at supersonic speed, signed by Captain Mike Bannister the chief Concorde pilot and Adrian Meredith the official BA photographer. I wish I could get a signature of the RAF Tornado pilot as well who "intercepted" the Concorde for the photo op.

Interestingly, the story goes that the fighter used up most of it's fuel to get that high and fast, and could only hang for a few minutes to take photos before running out of fuel. Oh and the Concorde had to slow down to 1.5M from 2M so that the planned rendezvous could even happen. Fascinating plane. I need to get that bad boy framed.

I built mine, but I ordered an uplift standing desk since I work from home half the time. Sitting down all day isn't healthy.

My problem is I have 6 monitors

3 for personal desktop. 2 is ok
2 plus a laptop for work. These do not connect at all.

I need enough space for all of that

Below is personal setup

Work setup is 2 of the smaller monitors plus laptop and docking station (keyboard, mouse too)

Here’s mine.
1882 Roll Top that’s been in the family since the 60’s.
My Dad bought it from Bing Crosby when he was selling off stuff out of his house in Rancho Santa Fe.
He had it totally restored. They had it in the garage and used it to mix paint on!🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Those monitors only have one input?

Most of mine have three separate inputs to display multiple sources.

Personal laptop on the left and work setup on the right.

Personal and family odds and ends above when I need a quick distraction during my office hours.

They do, but I will be on PC during work meetings

I have my girls laptop docking station plugged into the two 34" curved monitors, and the laptop displays across both monitors perfectly. Laptop stays closed on her desk. PC mouse and keyboard plug into the docking station to operate the laptop.

The PC is plugged into the second input of those same monitors, so it's just a matter of switching inputs to go between the PC and work laptop.

Took me a bit of homework to get the colors to match up exactly, but there are apps/devices to do that for you if you get frustrated trying getting em to match.

That's all I got!

Similar here, too.

But my laptop is a work laptop, no dock, so I use the digital + VGA out since, absent a dock or a really buff laptop, the laptop can only drive/support one digital out. Then I just switch the inputs as needed from the monitor itself.

I used to have 3 pc's, 6 screens, all controlled by one keyboard and one mouse by using Synergy, which accomplishes control via your network.

Too much to worry about, now I only run 3 screens.

The dock is actually just a box that everything plugs into.

The laptop plugs into the box/dock with USB C cable! The monitors are HDMI from the box and display port from the PC.

It's trippy for sure.

Curvered 34s. I'm going to change it all up since getting the MultiViewer for Formula 1. New PC that will output to 3 monitors, one more 34, and add a TV above. Going to need a new desk.

After having a dedicated office in the home for over 15 years, we disassembled it a few months ago. We purchased some screen extenders for the laptop and now work in various areas of the house. The nice part about this change, and the reason I did it, was that I can take this setup anywhere, with it remaining the same setup. Previously, I had a travel computer and a home office computer, which always gave a different vibe when trying to work while traveling. Now, it's the exact same setup everywhere. I decided to test the idea for a month before taking the office apart. After just the first several days, I was sold. The big monitors were nice and looked cool, but this is the setup for me moving forward.

Not the exact unit I have but this is how I do it. Mine takes a keystroke to switch between PCs. This way I can share the monitors/keyboard/mouse between my work and personal PC.

Dual curved 34” monitors, Bose speakers…
Running a Surface laptop, and when I am on the road, I bring that stand and keyboard with me.
Desk is electric and goes from sitting to standing mode with a push of a button.

Bought the tool box on FB Mkpl, which matchs my desk for the most part. That thing stores all my shit.

Nah… planning to bring the KRX 1000 SXS…

I sold my 2012 KTM 300xc, but my daughters 2007 KTM 250xc is in the garage, I can always bring it.

So...

We swapped out her work laptop, with her personal laptop that also had a USB-C port in the side of it.

It recognized the PC mouse and keyboard instantly, but had to be rebooted for the dual monitors to come in.

Shut it closed and everything works perfectly!

Both laptops work to our wireless network printer as well. 👍🏼

Yup, they have strong personalities. Does she yodel instead off bark, and does she obsessively clean herself like a cat? Ours refused to give up his spot at the bottom of the bed and whenever wifey accidently touched him during sleep, he would nip her.

I use the same dock for personal and work machine, connecting by usb-c. This means same monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc stay put. I will upgrade monitors to a giant curved one for sim racing soon if I can find the right arm to get it in position with the sim rig, forward and down, and back to an office setup like this as well. Problem with most articulating arms and this is they can’t handle the weight of those monsters.

I used to be a keyboard snob like that, my current one has quite a few letters worn off and will eventually need replacing, I will be resurrecting my old ways once I get off the wallet for another one.

Does the dock require a drivers/software install? Or simply plug and play?

I am not sure if anything has installed in the background, but its been plug and play with two different brand pc's, and whether I am working at home, local office (Lake Forest), or whether I go to the Houston office or London, it just all works, sometimes the monitors end up on the wrong sides, so a quick click in display and that gets sorted.
