You should change the thread title to “I Love Lake Havasu”

Water skiing, fishing, boat racing, live music, and off roading all in the same hour 😂

Well I think they have a schedule of all the different events at different times.. LOL. but yes technically you could do all that all in a day plus some.. :)

I have extremely high expectations for Ultra4. I'm not afraid to voice my opinions, which often make their way back to the powers, and sometimes, I get a nice phone call asking me to STFU. :)

That being said, I had the privilege of prerunning the first twenty miles of the Ultra4 racecourse yesterday.

HOLY CRAP that is what Ultra4 racing was meant to be. That course is awesome. It exceeded my expectations by miles. They have a two-year commitment to this location, I hope that they invest long-term into Havasu because I'm convinced this location could be very popular with the teams and spectators.

Yes, it might be a little bumpy the first year, but with a little tuning and building some infrastructure, these folks could have a premiere event on their hands that could be great for the city. They have plenty of good people, plenty of cash, and the talent to develop TV and Livestream media that could introduce a lot of people to how great LHC is.

I had an absolute blast on that course and hanging out with my old friends yesterday, they really made my day. I seldom get excited about rocksports events these days, but this event is making me rethink my work schedule later this week and look for ways to use some PTO.

Racing starts Friday for the limited classes and UTVs. I would not be surprised if a UTV records as fast a finishing time as the top unlimited class, so it is not like Friday is a throwaway. It is going to be great racing both days.

I'm not in any way a paid ambassador for the event, just a proud papa to see them make my baby great again. This course goes back to the vision of KOH as "The Ultimate Desert Race" It is going to eat tires, make drivers cry, and kick the ass of the co-driver. There is everything from 100MPH plus sections to technical rock crawling.

Please be extremely careful out here if you are going to try and spectate, I also encourage you to pay the spectator fees and make this viable for the promoter. It is going to be a handful keeping people off the race course, and these cars are going to very fast.

There is so much going on with this event, you better be rested up for this week's activities.

Is there any maps of the off road course so spectators can figure out where to watch?

Figures it’s the same weekend as the enduro and exhibition ski races. 😬 I’d like to watch both.

I’ll ask..

I do know they are setting up jumbotrons at vendors village and at various hotels and are somehow streaming the race from a bunch of places to those locations.. 😳

I don't know about any spectator information that is not posted on the website. I get the feeling they are in the "Build it and they will come" phase.

I don't want to get over my skies and misspeak, but I ASSUME they would make any maps available for paying customers. Our culture seems to have a hard time paying to watch off-road racing. Myself included FWIW, hopefully, they build this thing out so that eyeballs are more valuable than a few bucks for a map.

I'm doing my best not to be "That Guy" and say things like "What you need to do is...."

I'm not sure if it's been published yet, but many more miles. They are going to be able to stretch their legs. I believe the Friday race will go into the night hours, but I don't know the cut-off time. It is going to be legit racing, not a short course with a pile of random rubble.

Here is one of the smaller terrain features in the first twenty miles. This pinch could be interesting. I'm really hopeful they have cameras at some of these locations so people don't need to go out on the course. In time I'm confident they will broadcast areas like this on those jumbotrons. There is no easy way around this without cheating the course. I'm told they have set up virtual checkpoints on the tracker with aggressive recording times to prevent people from leaving the course in these situations. The last person in the picture is standing on gravel that will no doubt get spit out, making a hole.

Looking forward to getting out on the dirt this weekend. Wife got sick the last trip out. Turned into a weekend of chores. Good news is windows are clean and landscaping is dialed.

Let me know when you are going out. If I can break away I will go to!

In the same boat.
Daughter has last fall-ball volleyball tournament Sunday. Her 12U team is ranked #1 in San Diego going into this tournament.

That's how I read it too .... you need at least a general event pass

IMHO that is something that the vendors may look for improvement on since there is so much going on in so many places. I'm not sure where best to locate the vendor show. It is one of the things I'm interested in, but I don't want to pay for a concert ticket to see the vendors. Mostly because I don't like concerts.

I was surprised they are not doing contingency on Thursday night on Main Street. Maybe in the future.

Yeah, looks like they are trying to charge to get into the Vendor’s Village. I get that from what I read on the website. Is it me and my Hawaii publicly edumacated ass or does anyone else concur?

Does anyone have any information on the Ultra 4 race on Saturday? Specifically any good spots to watch or enter to watch? Has a course map been released? Do you have to pay? If so where do you pay? I am excited for this one.

I believe @RiverDave is correct; from what I am hearing from vendors, Vendor Village is free until the concerts.

Being the first year, I hope people will accept the bumpy ride and look toward what the future holds. I'm having dinner tonight with a vendor who chases these events all over the country; when I spoke to him last night, he said they are committed to making this work, but it might be a little rocky this year.

FWIW, these guys put on massive events in the Midwest that are very complex, and they execute flawlessly. They have a habit of going all in and really hard, so the sheer volume of things they are trying to do in year one should give you an idea of the investments they are willing to make. Hope it sticks for them.

Looks like this event is going to really cool , these guys aren't messing around . Looking forward to checking some of it out in the desert for a bit tomorrow and Saturday and try to get to vendor village for a bit both nights . Sunday will be the F1 boats ..... Kind of wish this event was over 2 weekends so we could see it all but , I see this being a great time as it is .

Any of you guys know how to get out on the course to spectate? There doesn’t seem to be much information out there, I asked around in the pits, seems like the area a lot of confusion even among the racers. I’d like to get out somewhere to watch, but I’m not very familiar with the Standard Wash area.

Looks like the F1 boats are Saturday and Sunday, unfortunately they're calling for 27 mph winds on Sunday
