Laughlin River Regatta float...trying to make a comeback 2018

Apparently the Laughlin River Regatta tube float has new ownership and is trying to make a comeback. When anyone brings up the trash issues from 2 years ago on their Facebook page, the supporters post quips like “what were the floaters supposed to do, there were no trash cans” or “everyone was to tired to carry their rafts uphill at the end”. This shows they havent admitted their problems and don’t take it seriously. The event organizers can’t fix stupid.....

The Fort Mohave Indian Tribe is against it, and are advising the Coast Gaurd to not issue the permit needed to hold the event.

The amount of trash left down river was unreal from the last float, and it was cancelled for good reason. Here’s a reminder of last time....

Not sure how everyone feels about this one, but if you want to give a piece of your mind against this sucker from coming back and trashing the river, the info is in the screenshot below.

Me - I’m against it, the trash was ridiculous. If boaters did that we would be banned from the river! I don’t care that there was a lack of trash cans for the event, everyone knows you don’t throw trash and shit in the river. You bring an ice chest full of beers, figure out how to take an ice chest full of cans home.

It would never be perfect......but a step in the right direction would be if they just had out a couple of support boats like pontoons making the rounds by all the groups to collect trash on the water during the float would help.
There is always gonna be non river peeps with the lack of respect to clean up after themselves paticipating. So trash will always be a problem.

Lol... Thinking anything would be different is crazy. Only hope they have is to line the river with dumsters and hope people aren't too drunk to recognize a large trash can versus just being a lazy fuck and leaving their shit everywhere.

It's not about non river peeps. It's about a shit ton of people with zero respect for anything but what they are wearing. No normal person thinks its ok to just throw shit everywhere. I hope this event never comes back. It can only be used as a tool for the tree huggers to make all of us look bad.

I say FUCK that and the Sorry fuckers that trash&trashed the river! Another one isn't deserved!!....But if they do get chance,....the organizers should have to put up a Million dollar clean-up insurance bond (if such a thing exists) or something that assures an IMMEDIATE clean-up and restoration of the entire route!
