1) Don't wear loose clothing
2) Be extra careful when running long parts between centers
3) Don't worry about the idiot getting wrapped up in the machine, kill the fucking power first you nit wit. :p

And look at all the other safety violations....How many can we see in this video.

First would be no eye protection. and those shoes the kids wearing don't appear to be safety shoes.;)

Yeah yeah yeah, you're talking to a guy that wears slip on skateboarding shoes, shorts, and is known to have a cold beer on the tool post :p

My machine shop teacher lost his right arm in a lathe. He didn't even have to preach safety. Watching him struggle to write and machine left handed was enough to scare us into safety.

in woodshop class in highschool this kid was using the drill press and his hoodie strings got sucked up... needless to say it pulled his face right into the chuck and tore him a new one before he even know what happened. was pretty gruesome.

safety first!

Office work is dangerous too. Imagine the old necktie in the paper shredder scenario.

I still remember the first day of 7th grade woodshop. Beginning of period, teacher "Every student unbutton your shirts and untie your shoes...."

Bunch of 7th graders thinking WTF is he doing? Next from teacher..."Now rebutton your shirts and tie your shoes without the use of your thumbs..."

We all spent the next 45 minutes trying to do just that.

Bell begins to ring, teacher..."Now todays lesson boys is keep your thumbs out of the saws..."

Seems like only yesterday.......36 years later..............Mr. Irwin, great lesson, thanx!

I don't think they even have wood shop in grade school anymore. We had a semester of metal shop and one of wood shop.

My Pops still has a seahorse (maybe 18"-20" tall) that I made in that 7th grade class. And, I have a little hammer that I made in the next semester's metal shop.
