I am getting ready to move from LA to OC in 3 more weeks. The past 4 weeks I have been stressing a bit to find a decent flat bed trailer to move a tall 17'L x 8'W x 12'T Storage shed I have in back of my LA pad. I also need to move a corner Pergola.

I couldn't find any decent trailers less than $3,800. 2 nights ago, my neighbor hits me up and asks if I want a free trailer. His Dr. Buddy is building a new house in Santa Monica and doesn't need the trailer anymore. My neighbor hits me up knowing I could possibly be in need of this trailer. He sends me a few pictures and I say hell ya I want a FREE Trailer!

I get over there yesterday afternoon, move a bunch of construction shit off the trailer, hook the summa bitch up to my blazer and haul ass outta there!

I'll pressure wash her this weekend. I think she will clean up well

After the move, I will get 2 new heavy duty fenders that I could drive over if needed. The current fenders are trashed.

Then I need to weld a new bracket for the winch up front. Somehow the one on there is bent back like a Mofo

I also need to replace the banged up storage box.

Once I replace the fenders, straighten out the jack, & replace the storage box, I will hit the trailer and rims with a gloss black farm paint to clean her up!

Awesome! My Grandpa has had his house in Villa Park for over 40 years now. It's about 3/4 of a mile as a crow flies from my new pad.

I'd love to check out Morenos, but will be limited to cans of beans and boxes of rice for a long long time 😅

One of my wife's oldest girlfriend's family owns that place. Really good food.

Last time I got a "Free Trailer" I spent about a grand on it and then gave it away for free because the axles were bent and it was completely unsafe when loaded above 55mph.

My suggestion is to actually tow it. Empty and loaded with weight near what you plan on towing before you do anything else....... then look into registation.

If it tows straight and you can register it then you got a free trailer.... otherwise you took someones problem for no charge.

Good luck and based on the photos I think you did well.

Been going there since early '70's. To this day, whenever the familys in town together for some birthday or celebration, we usually meet up there!

I towed it from Santa Monica to Westchester (About 10 miles) on the freeway. Got up to 65mph and she towed dead strait.

I do want to throw some weight on her and see how she tows. I also need to look over the whole trailer for any cracks or bent metal that could possibly cause future issues.

I will work on getting her registered next week.

Awesome!
...can I borrow it? I'll make sure to leave the lights not working, and at least one tire hammered. And i can make sure we lose the pins for the ramps, to cover the bases!

We go now and then, mostly for some kind of get together. Kind of a drive from Long Beach.

I would consider moving the jack back far enough to open the tailgate without hitting it. Seen too many dented tailgates form it hitting.

That’s better than borrowing a trailer from RD.

Awsome....

Throw on a Harbor Freight storage box for $100ish bucks, maybe a new jack, and some tires and it is perfect.

Date code on tires?

Nothing worse than a blown tire, no tools, spare or jack.

Welcome to the OC! The boy sure has grown, remember meeting your family at the restaurant in Chandler, great bunch of people. The Wife and I are Orange High Grads, and lived there after we married for another 13 years until moving to So. County.

Thanks Buddy! He is growing like a weed! So. County is really nice, but a little too far from my shop in Gardena.
