650hp 572, Bravo 1 , 28p 4 blade Signature, super clean, no stereo, foot throttle

I'm a little worried about the horsepower with the Bravo 1 and rack and pinion steering but I don't plan on hauling ass very often. The windshield doesn't really shield you from any wind and the wife isn't a fan of wind facelifts.

I got to take it out on Elsinore yesterday and it's definitely a drivers boat. I really need some seat time with the foot throttle and trim. I'm running it past the carb shop on Wednesday because it wasn't real happy idling in drive. The RPMs would drop from about 900 to 600 when I went from neutral to drive. A buddy and I are installing a stereo on Saturday. The Powerstroke doesn't even know it's back there when towing.

Is RD still giving out t-shirts? :D

Might want to think about a set of spark plugs, or that carb tune up like you said for your idle issue.

How old is the gas that is in it? Could be that too.

Nice ride! I kinda like the longer forks on the sponsons like that. I MUCH prefer a foot throttle over hand any day. I have the "turn signal" style trim switch on my boat and at speed I never have to take a hand off the wheel. Just extend my index finger from the wheel and click it up or down for the trim. Not sure how much I'd like foot trim controls myself though.

Cleaner... yes. Clean... no.

The trim button is on the dash right behind the wheel. The gauge wasn't working because it was it wasn't reconnected after the motor was pulled to put in a new pan. So I need to take care of that so I can figure out the sweet spot.

Yea, that ol girl ought to have enough torque at idle with a 4-3/8 stroke. :)

The previous owner went from a 26 to a 28 prop and got the carb re-jetted. So I believe it's carb issue. Motor only has 42 hours on it.

Previous owner drained the gas at the end of the season. So the gas was new from the gas station yesterday morning.

Ok.

Could be a couple things, something with the carb could be one of them, but "Rejetting" the carb should not change the idle circuit.

If it’s a dominator carb, get used to using your foot on pedal for idle. :D

I find this to be an odd comment my Dominator idles perfect!
Mine does too until I put it in gear, then drops down to low to idle. Up idle for in gear but to high from neutral. It’s a vicious cycle. Works awesome wide open. :D

28 with a 548 xr drive Imco -2 lower
28 pitch Mirage plus by Hill blown 468 bravo

Have you guys switched props and needed to adjust the carb? The 28 was only run a trip or two and then the carb was changed a little (bigger jets? Is that how you say it?). It was run with the changed carb for the first time when I took it to Elsinore Sunday.

My dominator idles perfectly. It takes part fuel perfectly and it runs fine up top as well. If it didn’t I’d sent the carb out to C and J Engineering.

Mine is in a v drive but I can idle in 2nd gear with 25 gears and 11.5x16 prop. That is easily a 10+ mph idle. So I’m sure it’s lugging harder than a 28 pitch w/ outdrive.
