We sponsored the event as we have almost every Lake Powell run for the past 7-8 years so every participant should receive at least 1 bottle of Boat Bling product. Hopefully the packages we donated bring some $$ in the charity raffle too.

I can't be there in person this weekend due to scheduling conflict so any pics of product on boats would be greatly appreciated! I know wiping down the boats isn't exactly sexy so I'm happy to send a care package to anyone that provides pics.

Enjoy and have a fun and SAFE event!!!

Thanks for the pics, everyone.... Beautiful , fantastic Lake Powell.. Been going for over 45 years, in almost anything that floats, but mostly sloooow , scenic houseboats, with smaller ski type boats to explore with. I STILL miss the enchantment of the canyons.
The only place I can think of , more beautiful than Southern Lake Powell, is Northern Lake Powell--- or was that the other way around ???

Had a great time but now I look like a lobster. Shout out to #springbreakracing.

Bo, your boat looked nice blowing past that card stop. We were on one of Mike's G25s.

Yes, I think upstream is MUCH more scenic. I don't think I would ever consider personally having a housebaot out of Antelope for a number of reasons. One being not as scenic, two is the traffic, and third is is a good bit shorter drive for us from northern utah to hit bullfrog.

I am a Bullfrog guy myself, funny how most people are surprised when I say that.

The one place a couple of PWCs makes sense. Running narrow canyons in a boat is great, on a PWC it is insane.

I've never been on Powell, but we have a small group on a 59' coming out of Wahweap in August.
Last night I made the pitch for the 10 hour ride up that lake to get to the escalante area... I think it may have been successful.

There is not an over-abundance of houseboat spots in Escalante. So I would start looking for nice spots after you get past the San Jaun. I have put our houseboat several times in good little coves between Escalante and San Jaun. Then you are also a little closer if you need to run back to dangling rope for ice/fuel etc. And still close enough to explore everything Escalante has to offer as well. But to plan on getting a spot in Escalante especially if you want a little bit of beach is a stretch. It can happen for sure but I have not had a great percentage of luck getting a spot in there.

Your best chances are Davis Gulch and Fifty Mile. Davis has one really big beach and a couple small ones, unless the water is up there is a large one at the end but not happening this year. Fifty mile has a large one that will be getting bigger but as it gets bigger you can't get a houseboat around the corner and can only use one side. It is also very very tight getting a house boat back into Davis Gulch.

McKay is right though. If you have a scout boat they could go ahead and check those canyons, if it open drop some people off to save it. My group has been able to get those areas a few times but you usually need to be pulling in on an off day.

This pic is at the very end of Davis Gulch, water does not go this far this year.

Yeah. We don't have to be in Escalante, but the closer the better. lol.

We definitely are going to overdo it in the scout boat department. We've got a 26' HTM, 24' Hallett and a Seado on the books. I'm trying to be optimistic about having all 3 vessels in tow.

I'm thinking we start looking at Llewellyn gulch and Cottonwood. If luck is with us we'll find something up further. Still waiting for confirmation from the maria, but we'll likely be preboarding the night before and hope to get out of the marina early on Monday morning. I think its the first week of the offseason so I suppose weather could chnage the entire itinerary any way.

What is the deal with I bolts on the docks and not cleats?

All the docks at Wahweap Marina and up at Rainbow bridge have the I bolts. Antelope Point Marina has regular cleats. Not sure the reasoning behind it. I don't mind it a bit, simple to tie off to in my opinion.

Cheers,

Wahweap has the I bolts, due to the number that get replaced each year. Much cheaper to replace.

Epic shots Bully, I think we saw you cruzing up lake on Saturday. So busy working to buy boat gas, it takes me a week to get through all the great therads, this being one of them.

Cheers,

Bo

Currently chatting with Dearden about possibly running out there 7/12 - 7/16 and staying outside of Wahweep in Page. Convincing the wife that a 9 hour tow is worth it, that is another story.
