Video says a year and a half later 10% of destroyed homes now have permits issued. Not sure how this bodes for Palisades and Altadena. Watching our head bureaucrat Newsom tell us how they are going to cut through the red tape is hilarious. Where did that red tape come from?

I heard the first sale of a burned out lot in Altadena happened recently. Asking was 455, rumor has it went over five. going to be interesting As I know several people that live there and can walk out of my office and see Altadena.
If Newson had his choice, it would be one giant 15 minute town.

Yeah like 100k over asking. Some developers really want to make as much low income housing as they can, anywhere they can.

With your background you might be interested in reading their "Long Term Recovery Plan" that resulted from the numerous community meetings with owners and investors --- yet is still a living document, subject to change that was finally released in December of 2024.
This plan reveals their vision and development for the "New Lahaina

The document which includes the various phases that span six years is available here ---- https://www.mauirecovers.org/lahaina

News also reporting one burn't out Palisades lot just entered escrow for 1 large.
Million dollar+ lot values in spite of the disaster.

Rebuilding the Malibu beach homes that were on piers,, that will probably get a lot of push back and drama.

Google Karen Bass and Puerto Rico, she is a shiat show at every level.

Also this person getting $550k, it is all coming from donations

Man, I loved Lahaina, every visit was a great time, but unfortunately with all the bureaucratic BS and how hard it is already to build in Hi, it will take many years or even a generation to rebuild and it just won't be the same :(

Thank you for posting this. I'm glad I watched it as it provides a lot of interesting information. I'm certain this is the same playbook Newscum is going to use for both Altadena and Malibu/Pacific Palisades.
