Labor Day weekend in Parker

Only been to parker once about 7 years ago. We're staying at Pirates Den with a group. Whats the do's and Don'ts on Holiday weekend? Leo's etc?

Have a DD.

Have all your safety gear in order.

If you boat at night expect to be pulled over.

Don’t drive fast at night.

Don’t have any visible cues that you have consumed any alcohol as the operator (if you do have a beer or two)

Keep your head on a swivel. Parker holidays are amateur hour.l for boaters and jet skiers.

When I stay at pirates we usually pull the boat at night and golf cart over to roadrunner for night time festivities.

1 more DON'T - if there are kids in your group, don't pull them on an inter-tube in the middle of the day doing S turns up and down the river! Its not safe for the kiddos.

If you go to Fox's, have a few drinks and leave after dark. You have better chances not getting pulled over if you're riding on 4 wheels. On the water, you're screwed.

I used to sit out front at Windmill and watch LE pull over EVERY single boat that left Roadrunner and got on plane. “Reasonable and prudent” leaves a lot for interpretation by LE.

Sherriff told me at breakfast today, that there will be a DUI checkpoint on the road. Did not tell me where. Also easy entering the Keys in the afternoon and evening. They have been sitting in the entrance and getting OUIs regularly.

Stay off off riverside drive between strokes and the hwy as much as possible. Sheriffs will be deep! Memorial day i was chillin at "THE BAR" ..saw a bunch of peeps getting rolled by unmarked trucks. Right when peeps were coming to the stop at bobby d' s these unmarked trucks were lighting everyone up doin sobriety checks. Scary shit!

Yep. I was at parker a little over 10yrs ago when a seadoo cut off a power cat cruising up river. Power cat swerved to miss the seadoo and sadly hit another one. The poor sole on the other passed on the moon ridge launch ramp despite receiving immediate care from buckskin emts.

Be extremely careful. Be sober if your captaining. It is not a weekend to drive fast on the strip, period.
Have fun but I can not reiterate, be extremely careful and have a very flexible neck.

you're allowed but I wouldn't. you will occasionally have to start the boat for a small correction in course/change

If you are going up above River Island check the dam release. You will want at least 9k cfs. It can drop fast in the evening depending on the day.
