Hey guys. Finally got some pics to show. I joined this site a few weeks ago and want to post some pics of our 22 Schiada Whaler. Its a 1981 model originally owned by Parnelli Jones. Im the third owner. It is powered by a 454 CHEVY making about 400 h.p. It has a turbo 400 trans ,casale split case v-drive(havnt determined gears yet) and Kinzvater 12 by 16 prop. I was told this boat was rigged with a turbo motor originally. We use it at Havasu where we have a second home. Will be posting more and asking lots of questions in the future. Also want to thank Wheeler and Ryan p. for the welcome. GREAT SITE RD.

Also since Schiadastan is here ,is it true that only three whalers were built with v-drives?

I used to see your Whaler on the river many years ago when it had the twin turbo set-up. Nice to see it appear again. It is truely a one-of-a-kind unique boat. Of course I am a bit partial to Schiada's and especially the Whaler. Do you ever boat on the Parker Strip?

I have never had this one down that way yet.We took our 66 flat down for the v-drive meet back in 2000.I sold the flat to get something the family could enjoy a little more.It was in hot boat magazine in dec 04.We have had the whaler for about 5 years now and love it.I saw your whaler in the regatta pics and talked to my neighbor Rassi Harper about it.his boys martin and Steve have some nice rides too.We may try to do the regatta next year.Only a few out there ,gotta take care of them.

Rassi Harper's neighbor!?! I hold that man in the highest respect. He's one of the kindest, classiest gentlemen I have ever met. His boys, just the same. True heros. :thumbsup

This makes me wonder, the name of your boat Just Ducky, is it related to an older Schiada that was called Cold Duck?

ryan, no the name of my boat came about from the expression Everything is Just Ducky which can be either good or bad depending on the situation. For now it means all good as the boat is turnkey and reliable as the day is long.Been watching your progress on Wiley Coyote. That is one of the purest of the breed. Also, Rassi did me the honor of doing the lettering on my boat.He is a great person to know.TAKE CARE OF HISTORY!

Here's another 22 Schiada Whaler. It's also a 1981 and from what I've been told it's the third one out of the mold. It was just repowered with a 350/Bravo One package. These are great boats for both the lake and the river. Great ski boats and they lay great ski wakes. For an all around ski pleasure boat it's hard beat a Schiada Whaler!

Did you ever get to read the online Performanceboats Magazine that covered the Schiada regatta? Your boat was in the article. (I wrote it)
