Well it should have been named for the us general who informed the slaves. But if he was white then we can’t have another whitey holiday.

I expect at some point we will have slightly offset Black Easter, Black Columbus and Black Santa holidays, at least in CA. Followed by women versions, then Pride month versions until every day is a holiday and no one goes to work in the United Socialist Republic of Kommiefornia.
