here's the deal... I am on the river in Parker, I have a 21 ft Ultra, cruising all day without issues, motor is running the best it ever has. after floating for a while, i start it back up and it acts like we sucked up something in the jet. after investigating, we find nothing noticably wrong. I pulled it out of the water, and did some further investigation and still find nothing... any ideas?

did the jet finally give out?

Hate to say it but, usually a motor runs its best before it goes south. What makes you think its the pump? Look up into intake with a flashlight. You may have something in the pumpp.

the motor still runs fine, and build strong RPM... the reason it feels like the pump is because i have sucked a shitload of seaweed up before and it feels identical, and my seadoo feels the same way when it happens. motor doesnt have any symptoms of issues and 3 weeks ago had a compression check and we were within 1 lbs of stock specs.

If the motor seems fine but the Boat lacks acceleration and shudders and shakes like a "dog poopin peach pits" Chances are whatever you may have "sucked up" has gone thru to the exit side (back) of the Impeller Tom

Bearing could make the noise, but doesn't explain the "no go" I'd guess rocks in the impeller. Grass usually gets wadded up in the intake or wrapped around the shaft (same for ski ropes), but since it sounds like he's checked it and it's clear, I'm gonna toss my $$ on a rock in the impeller or bowl.

After checking it out, did you drop it back in the water and drive it again? Wouldn't be the first time that something got hung up under a pump only to disappear as boat gets loaded onto trailer. If you did retest and problem was still there, I would agree with those who have said there is debris caught in the impeller or bowl.

Two things pop into my mind as you explain it. Don't think I'm insulting, because it sounds very similar to when the bolt fell out of my reverse bucket. JE pump. (Fell down, and until i got it to build some serious pressure, pressure held it open until I lifted, then it stopped like RIGHT NOW! What fun)

Second, again unlikely, sheared the splines off the driveline or impy shaft maybe?

Other than that, Fock if I know. Sounds like you checked the jet out pretty good.

My guess is something in pump, telltale, after floating, small pieces of reed or twig will do this. If not dial 1-800-pay-jack, Jack MPD 949-631-2040
