Shitty way to end your day/weekend[/QUOTE
About 30 yrs. ago I had a friend who's jet boat sunk "mysteriously" on the anchor on the beach at echo lodge. Only one on the beach that night. I told him we could have it running in short time if we got on it now and all would be ok. He wasn't interested in that resolution. Additionally, he let it sit wet for about a week before he pilled it to a shop for his insurance claim repair. He had a fresh bote by the end of summer when all was said and done. ;);)o_O

Update... 2 guys in it... Both got out OK. I tried to move it to shore but no luck. LEO said no patrol boats till 10 am.

Oh, and Rollbar Boat trying to help out Jet Bote..... ;)

Good on ya for trying.....by that photo it kinda looks like a CP? Good to hear the guys got out ok. Imagine the phone call home if dad let his son take the boat to the river for the weekend.:mad::(

Deputy said his agency is rolling their boat from Havasu now. We watched several close calls with boats and skis almost driving over the boat.

One morning years ago I stumbled down to the dock at rio del sol where my 18 advantage was bow tied on one of their extension arms. I almost jumped into the boat as usual but I happened to notice it very low in the water in the back. Had I jumped in I would likely have been the extra weight to submerge it. I step backed, gathered my thoughts for a moment, then decided it best to reach over and turn on the bilge...... and saved it. That was as close as I ever want to come to sinking a boat. The week following I fixed the leaks and 2 -1000 gpm bilge pumps were installed on water witch switch. Experiences like these raise ones level of consciousness.......hopefully.

Kenny just called and asked me about it. Rob called him asking if we knew the boat.

Question. If law enforcement gets involved, does that complicate things for the owner?? Or do they (LEO), just provide a safety net for the guys pulling the boat and prevent idiots from running them over while in the water??

This is what they did when I sunk my Daytona. They took a report because I lost a few items.

When Everyone was helping drag my pile outta the water at big river 10 years ago...sheriffs showed up supposedly because a bunch of assholes got into a fight on the ramp over how best to recover the boat. Some fat chick with her crew showed up outta nowhere with scuba gear trying to sell her services...I pointed to bow of boat sticking outta the water 20 feet away and told her the tanks might be a bit much, so fuckoff...sheriffs never questioned me or even made contact with me. F&G was on Dike road an the AZ side observing the whole thing too. No contact from LEO all weekend, and I wasn’t hiding from anyone.

Good to know! I've heard the recovery cost quoted as high as $5K in Parker. Which includes the bitchy people in dive gear and cute floaties.

$200 a linear ft. Friends sunk on his buoy no all the way under. Was over $4K. Problem was insurance paid but with the amount they cut him short on the check for total loss. Took them less than a hour = easy money.

So now his truck is stuck? What a weekend.
When our ramp was closed I tried to pull my boat out in the same spot. Sand is soft there and got stuck. Sure someone pulled him out my buddy is there with a lifted 4x4 F350 if needed.

Depends how bad you want the boat back in good condition. I didn’t GAF, and was perfectly fine with lashing the rope to a truck and dragging that bitch up the ramp and outta the way so everyone could get back to their business. I knew the boat broke. If it was deeper and wouldn’t have caused a hazard, I’d have left it there and swam home.

It’s not hard to recover a smaller boat. Done a couple. As long as its not upside down on the bottom. It’s hook a line to the Bow eye. Pull the drain plugs and drag it slowly up until you can start bailing and turn on bilge pumps. Once it’s floating on its own. Put it on the trailer preferably mostly empty otherwise you risk fucking up the boat if you try to put it all the way out full of water.

Drain fluids. Fill motor full of diesel fuel. Spin it over a bunch with the plugs out. Then drain the Diesel fuel. Put fresh oil and filter in it. Drain fuel tanks and blow out fuel lines. Install fresh fuel and plugs. Empty drive oil and replace with fresh. Get it started and drive it. Get it hot so any remaining water in the oil gets boiled off. All done ASAP very little harm will be done.

so essentially a fuel line ruptured then? The occupants were very lucky to have not become part of the burn scenario. That's some scary shiat right there. Bummer deal for all involved. Looks like a real nice float. Did they pull plug to extinguish? It doesn't appear burned in the original photo's so I'm guessing they extinguished it before it was able to burn for too long? Just general curiosity is all.

The last sank boat I dealt with I had running again in 4 hours. No damage except pride.
That's pretty quick 405. On any given weekend at the circle boat races this can typically be seen completed in between rounds if theirs no other damage. haha
