The grandparents old cruiser looks like a Beismeyer? The Spectra is a great boat, keep that in the family forever! And yes jet boats suck and blow! the only boat with a built in dyno! Flats are fun just like tricycles--- hell they both have pedals!

1977 Glastron Carlson CVX 20 Deluxe both Past and Present. First pic was in 1977 right after Dad bought the boat. Dad bought it when it was 6 months old off a guy who had an unexpected bundle of joy. After 31 years of loyal service he traded up to a Hallett 210 and I inherited my college graduation present. The last two pics were taken this past memorial day. I put in an upholstry job and shes good as new. At 32 years old with the stock engine she gave the neighbors 21 V drive Rayson Craft fits and cost him a pretty penny.

sorry i dont have much more.at the time[early 90's],we [west coast tooling]were doing bare hulls for Cole, Caliber1, and Ultra in Lake Elsinore out of the old Solution boats building on the west side of the lake.we were doing a 20 Cole or 22 a week, dont remember now if it was the nighthawk or superhawk 22,was a long time ago, anyways, old man Cole sent out the Tdeck molds , we did 2 if i remember right, same colors/design about a month apart, then they came back picked up the mold and never saw the molds or that boat again. seems like i remember all the Cole molds going back to chatsworth a year or two later. its all kinda hazy[used to smoke alot of pot back then] but for some reason i recall it set up for a jet? those were the good ol days before the whole bigger better best thing got going, keep that boat! classy tooling lines, fast, and its a Cole:thumbsup

Hey thanks for the info! It's back home in elsinore and I don't plan on getting rid of it! I am amazed how fast and qwik it is for the work done so far. I really want a clue on bare hull weight. I have had feather weight race hulls and tug boat hulls and this feels to be about 500 lbs. Also Tom at jet boat performance has the same hull also set-up for a pump. It has taken alot of work to get it to look as good as it does and I am not done yet. Best on the radar gun so far is 84 mph. Looking for 10 mph more. It still has the cast 454 bottom end with cam, head and induction changes. We shall see! M

just talked to Mancini on the phone, he also only remembers a couple of em bieng done by them[west coast],also said he remembered how much he liked the burgandy cap against the red. that gel job was somewhat "exotic" at the time as we were mostly doing the capfade/5 letdowns of [insert color here] stripes around deck and hull. stout #s from your jet boat:thumbsup keep it up:thumbsup

Nice Lavey Craft, after the Hallett 210, that LC of yours is my favorite boat.

Not interested in finding the old boat, besides it was about 15 or more years ago. I bought it, took it out a few times at Buena Vista, we headed to Success for a weekend campout, the entire weekend went to shit, Sunday the boat sank near the dam, I hadn't registered it in my name yet so I just unhooked the trailer and went home :grumble: .

I hate that place. :thumbsdown

Where in Bakersfield are you? There's a few of us here....

Greg the guy I bought the boat from is a BAd Aspainter. He painted the scoop before he sold it to me. I just couldn't have it sitting in the garage.

Please take a bunch of pics at Elsinore next week. Wish I could make it.

This is Bartlett Lake. Its at 40% full or 60% low. All that shore line is usually under water. That area is wild. Kinda like steps leading down to the water. Were I'm launching at in the pic is the start of the No wake bouys.

SRP Salt River Project manages the water in the res. They usually draw it down after summer is over. Its a nice lake. You can drive right up Launch and party on the beach in a few areas.

Holy shit. Its almost the exact same. Im going to go with a hatch instead of the dog house. Figured i would mix it up a bit. Im keeping the kachina for now. This is a long way out and i need something to be able to go to the lake in. Im pretty stoked. Said i would never buy another project, but you know how that is.

What speeds is he seeing out of his?

That would be cool, those little jumpseats seem kind of worthless to me? I guess be ok for kids or short rides... No reason to rush in getting rid of the Kachina if this is a winter project deal. Know what you mean about projects. :p What you doin gettin in a cruiser, thought you was gettin one of them baller boats.... :champagne:

Far as speeds, last time we was all at the lake together, I heard a GPS speed of 88. Didn't see it for myself, but didn't figure he was bullshitting comin up with an odd number like that. He was moving along pretty good. :party2:

LOL, I remember some peeps giving him shit, saying since he didn't disappear in a flash of light & flames he didn't get to 88 or his flux capacitor was fukked up... :p

Its one of those deals i couldnt pass up. As far as the baller boats. Things changed. Owner is hanging on to it so i found this. My goal is to make it run 80 on GPS of course.....LMFAO.

The side seats are ok but i want it to look different. Gunna start gathering the stuff for the motor. Figured its alot eaiser to build the hatch to the motor then motor to the hatch. Everyone i talk to says im crazy for trying to build a 700hp ford. Guess its all the more reason to prove them wrong:D

Why is that? Not much different than building a 700 horse Oba... I mean Chevy... :D
