I listen to A LOT of audio books/podcasts due to my long hours traveling on a weekly basis. The Jack Carr series starting with the Terminal List is absolutely fantastic.

Watch the Terminal List on Amazon Prime (or read it!) and go from there. The books are super good, IMO. 👍

I watched the movie when it came out and have recently found myself immersed in the books. Thank you for putting me on the scent of the other thread!😎

These are all signed by Jack, and the last one is one of his “shot through” copies that he signs and shoots a bullet through.

This series really lit the fire for reading.

His 8th book comes out in June.

I love how you can be dog ass tired and start listening to a good book and end up being so wide awake it’s like a superpower.

I’ve read them all and have the next one on pre order. Pretty much the only books I stay interested in.

I also liked Targeted: Beirut for non-fiction, but it’s more of a history lesson for driving to work.

It’s like watching a movie in your mind, you have all the small and Really big details going on ….

Although it sucks when your wife falls asleep and then wakes up and wants to be updated on the story and she’s not sure where she fell off

I’m on my second time through the series. I also spend a lot of time in a drivers seat. Definitely helps pass the time!

One of my favorite authors along with Tom Clancy, Mark Greaney and Clive Cussler.
I try to sit and read everyday for an hour or two rather than watch TV or other media. It's relaxing.

I guess I'm old but I used to listen to the old radio programs when I was driving to and from college late at night. I listened to The Lone Ranger, The Whistler, and a bunch of others. It was amazing how they “made the scene” in your mind with all the sound effects they would do, and all the characters were voiced differently (maybe by different people but maybe not).

Are these audible books the same way or is it just some boring monotonous voice reading a book at you?

The new modern audio book doesn’t have sound effects - like a noisy rusty door closing

But
They paint a clear picture in your mind of the scene taking place

It’s a guy reading a book, but the guy that does these books is really good. He changes his voice for different characters and everything. I don’t read at all and I literally get so sucked into these stories that I’ll listen in the shower. The writer is an ex SEAL so the little details he sprinkles in makes it very real.

Ray Porter is who does the narration of the Jack Carr audio book's. Guy does an excellent job!

I was looking at Audible and the 1st book is the cover of the TV show...is it narrated as the book or based off of the TV show? Trying to find out before buying it...Audible is a great option that I forgot about. I need to limit talk radio a bit before I really lose it one someone.
