WELCOME TO RIVER DAVES PLACE

It’s a shame my house burned down tomorrow.

Does anyone know what species these are? I’ve been curious how bad they are (having stepped on one so far and survived so obviously not lethal).

Also it’s a shame you can’t charge them up with the UV light to then keep glowing after you shut off the light. Would certainly help track it down when it scurries off.

Hey @LargeOrangeFont ...weren't you the guy dogging out people with whitewashed cabinets in their Havasu homes?
Figured your pad, would not have that khaki 1990's tile. 🤷‍♂️

No. I was dogging the people dogging other people’s houses. Owning anything and enjoying it is better than crying about how others people’s stuff looks from the sidelines.

That tile was installed in 07 before I bought the place.

My Havasu house would be uninhabitable to most of the RDP membership 🤣. It has those floors, colors and granite from a remodel 10 years ago :)

Anything you can put in front of doors that deters them from getting in the house that way? Like Velcro? Or maybe door sweeps?

Any other way they get in? Up plumbing that isn’t foam sealed?

Years ago while visiting inlaws in Scottsdale, I left and went to visit an old friend that was my next door neighbor up here in Oregon. He had recently bought acreage east of Tucson, bordering the Saguaro forest. He w went to replace all his carpet, so the moved all the furniture out onto his extensive decks. A couple days later after reinstalling furniture, that night was brutal.Dozens and dozens of scorpions were snapping at us. Yes, the stings hurt

Was that because the scorps got into the furniture on the deck? I’d have bagged or plastic wrapped everything.

Arizona Bark Scorpion, one of the most venomous scorpions around. I got tagged a few years ago at Canyon Lake and it f'd me up. I needed 2 doses of mexican anti-venom to bring me back to normal, I was a mess.

Yes. We were in the house 8 hours when this one crawled out from under the door to the guest room… after we cleaned the room. Must have been under the bed.

Only other one I’ve ever seen here was a small one dead on the driveway last Thanksgiving
Umm Ashley were not coming to visit you lol.

When we lived in Tucson I had an exterminator come by every other month. They put down a powder along all the doorways. Whatever it was kept the scorpions out of the house. They also sprayed for crickets and I'm sure that helped.

You are spot on….been using for 6 years and no problems with any bugs. Make up double strength and spray structure perimeter every couple months. View attachment 1184680
Sprayed the perimeter with Bifen IT the day after crunching that thing. Hopefully Bifen works as good killing insects as Biden has done killing the USA.

I stepped on one of those barefoot once. Honestly did not hurt as bad as I would have thought.

Still, 0/10 do not recommend.
