4 years ago, I was totally against it. We were in the midst of Covid and BLM fires. I was sure, that after the elections, regardless of the winner, things would at least calm down. Quite the contrary, things have become worse. The divisiveness has only increased amongst the people, the economy has been in steady decline and with each passing day comes yet another story of our country's demise. Russian and Chinese headlines are ablaze with comments of our so-called justice system, and our government's actions.

We have devolved into a third world country. When those in power manipulate the legal system to quell their political opponents they are just like every fascist country that this once great nation stands against. Even if you hate Trump, this should scare the crap out of you. If they can do this to Trump, they can do it to anyone.

Just turned mine also, we are in serious trouble from al the liberal/commie/ leftist bastards. Take alook at our US map and see what the fucking commies have bought up of our farm lands, and where a large protion of it is located next to, go ahead and look. It scares the poop out of me but moreso what my kids and GC wil see happen to this once proud nation!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

You know, every time I see a flag now, assume it’s in support of Trump. It’s sad that it’s come to THIS. Not because I don’t want to support Trump, but because it shows the divide in our country. The flag should represent everyone, but I don’t feel the left want or deserve it.

It's not just you, I feel like if I see someone flying the Red White and Blue I believe they are Trump supporters.

That’s pretty clear. The City of LA just re-wrote an ordinance that they couldn’t fly anything but the American flag so they could fly the rainbow flag for fag month.

It would be really nice if govt stayed the fuck out of cultural BS.

I think every citizen has the right to say their country is in distress.

I don’t think that lessens what service members have done for our country. Especially dying for it.

Sometimes I think we forget we are 4-5 generations away from fighting the Brits.




I hate bringing up Covid but what it did show is that there are citizens who will push back. And now that everything has shaken out, it appears those who pushed back were right. This very well may be an another time we look back on.

With much understanding and respect to the RDP members on their views on this, my personal view on flying the flag upside down is much like taking a knee during the national anthem in front of our flag, I'm just not into it and I just can't bring myself to do it. When BLM started to kneel for the flag it really upset me, I feel that this isn't a whole lot different than that. Again, I understand the reasons, but I just don't like anyone messing with the US flag. So many men and women fought and sacrificed their lives for our country and that's what the flag represents to me.

While I understand it signals distress, it’s hard to claim distress when the upside down flag is hanging in front of a million dollar house with $150K in the driveway.

Regardless of how horribly bad we think we have it….look at Venezuela, Cuba, etc…we are nowhere near “distress”, which is why we’re all still here.

I’m typically one to lurk in the shadows in public, not draw attention to myself. I don’t do bumper stickers or yard signs. I do have a flag pole in front of my house and need to put up a new flag…right side up (old one was torn and I took it down).

A lot of this I see as stomping one’s feet to show how angry any they are, which 1/2 the country will support and half will be against, but still not really doing anything accept making one’s self feel like they’re doing something, without actually doing anything.

I’m not sure what to do…except vote, but we know how that works.

Much like a loud stereo and whatever else some people think make them look cool and fit the profile they’re shooting for, all it does is nothing…but annoy some people, and possibly paint a target on your back to some extent.

Walk softly and carry a big stick….just gotta figure out (quietly) how to make that big stick effective.

Seems to be split 50/50 on the upside down flag flying. Wish my grandfathers were still around to ask their thoughts. Both WW2 vets, highly decorated and Dems to the core. My 77 yr old mom flipped to conservative in the last few years. I’d bet both grandpas would not only have flipped but wouldn’t be against the upside down flag. We live in the greatest country but it’s impossible to ignore that we’re in a free fall.

I’m not sure free fall is the right term….we’re certainly headed down a different path than at least half of us would like to be, but we’re still better than everyone else, who are headed down far worse paths.

The United States of America is not in any type of freefall. It never has been and it never will. Are some people upset about the Donald Trump verdict? Absolutely. If the verdict went the other way, others would be upset as well. It's not going to change our daily lives. Today you can still do almost anything you would like to do and go anywhere you want to. Monday you will "get" to go to work. You don't have to but you get to. Like lbhsbz said, "but we’re still better than everyone else, who are headed down far worse paths." This is so correct. Please don't let this consume you. In the big picture it is actually very insignificant. There is no better place in the world than the USA! Our Flag represents that and it should always be raised high and proudly.

The vets have never seen this country in is bad a shape it is now. Persecution of a political opponent on bull shit Trumped (pun intentded) charges, trying to silence them. We are in an exponentially worse place than we've ever been.

Look at what Venezuela was 25 years ago. They were the US of south America. Now they are a registered shit hole. If you that can't happen here with the apathetic attitude that the majority of this country has, then I have some ocean front property in AZ to sell you.
