Good morning folks,

Last time the family and I were out at the river, a couple of my seats finally gave up and ripped. I’ll be flying down in 2 weeks and figured it’d be a good time to figure out where I should take them now. The boats located in Riverside, does anyone have any reputable upholstery shops for me to try out around SoCal? Wouldn’t mind driving 60-70 miles for decent work. Looking to have a couple alterations done to prevent them from splitting out how they did this time. TIA

This thread has relevant contact info for some of the usual suspects used in the Inland Empire: https://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/threads/upholstery-recommendations.153207/

Noteworthy shops and names:
Eddie - Martinez Marine Interiors (Lake Elsinore)
Danny - West Coast Marine Interiors (Perris)
Raul - Temecula Speed and Marine (Temecula)

I need to make some calls to get both of my boats done this winter.

Danny is not longer involved at WCMI and moved to Utah. Or did that change.

Cobra boats is going interiors in house. Might also check with Lavey and see who they recommend

I can't speak to the WCMI switch, I was basing that info on previous threads. Wondering if anyone has used them since his split, if any?

I was leaning towards them based on reviews I have read. People seem to have hit and miss results with Martinez. Either way I need both boats recovered so I'm going to have to figure it out soon enough.

How much work needs done? What make and model boat?
I took mine back to Eliminator, and had the 20 year old interior and floors replaced with same interior. I'm on my 12th season with the complete new interior, and it still looks great. Made the boat feel new again. (keeping it covered helps a lot).
I would call around, and pull your ticket soon, before spring fever demand picks up.

Martinez Marine Interiors is the place to go! Amazing flawless work for extremely fair prices. He is the bar that I hold every upholstered to and haven't found one that measured up

He built me all 4 of these custom buckets for my fatty for under $2k 6 years ago. They still look brand new and as solid as they day I picked them up.

Next level moves around a lot and is working out of his home now and does not return phone calls I tried last week to get price. I don't deal with people that don't communicate .
I took it to Arko or Conquest and are very happy . I saw there work on a Hallett 30 they put an open bow in it cabin doors and full interior and it was one of best job I have seen better then new.

Realistically just 3 seats as of now. It’s an 04 centurion avalanche

It's hard to get anyone to "fix" it, after the material close's in on it's life time. Eliminator is where you go to get complete interiors. They fix their own stuff, but even they have a limit when it get close to making the decision to replace it. Good luck.

Chris told me last year in October they were starting to do it in house. I need to reach out to him in the next week or so to start interior on my Lavey.

It was a few years ago when I inquired about it. It was your Lavey that I was looking at and wanted a price on a complete interior and color sand. That’s when I found out they were using Martinez. The owner didn’t like my offer, but did call me back weeks later, but I had moved on.

That's funny. I wasn't willing to make the offer. I saw the boat and said "ya, NO". Then my wife was all "offer this", I said I wouldn't do it but feel free to pick up the phone. She did and that's how we got here. lol

The owner was pissed. I meet him at sun country the first time he saw it in 6 months, he was shocked what it looked like. But then again he left it there too. He wasn’t too happy when I made the offer as he had a buyer but was getting financing. Once financing couldnt happen he called me, but it was 3-4 weeks later. If he would have called me earlier it would have been mine. Lol

I’m not trying to get them “fixed” I want just those 3 seats upholstered for now. But I want to alter the molds of those seats before they get recovered, so they don’t split in the same spots. If that makes sense..

Start calling around. If they can do hotrod cars, they can do custom boats. I had a place in Oregon do my aircraft interior.

Eliminator might be too busy, to tie up a space for your boat, if it's not a complete re-do. It took 8 months before they called me to drive it over (from Phoenix), and another 4 weeks before it was ready. (Worth every penny, and the wait :) )

Craig's Upholstery, in Phoenix, can do small project, like what you're asking. Re-shaping the new foam, to alter the original appearance is what Custom Upholstery shops do.
