I went with shiny black for my blower. prob bc i am cheap and the rest of the motor parts were black and i didn't want to update all of it. hahah.

it all sits under a hatch so i don't care much...

Polished will never be "Out." While this is a stunning boat, and I can appreciate the time/money/effort that went into it, I would have polished everything in that engine compartment versus the blackout treatment. It's obviously what the owner wanted and it turned out really nice......but I'd rather have it shiny. Just my .02.

That motor is black and scary - I'll bet that's an assault motor and needs to be banned.
Heck, its probably got more than 1 cylinder. Nobody needs more than 1 cylinder. Actual quote from AOC;)

Andrews "ForSale" ads are getting better though! 🍑Hope it doesn't sell for a couple more months.
Don't worry, he always brings his accessories out with him. He has a red and white Daytona now. Him and my buddy go out to 3 dunes every weekend

Mercruiser is a Black Motor, unless it’s Blue.

If it’s Aluminum, it’s polished😉

I like em either way. The Merc’d out look
Is cool. I especially like black
Pipes. I really dig the mix of both black
And chrome @jetboatperformance posted about. That shit is gangster! Kinda sophisticated looking.

I personally have polished right now. But have had painted before too.

I like a little color to mix it up though for sure. Just my .02

Looking in that bilge is like looking at a fine watch, I've always liked the mechanical look when it is dressed up

I keep posting this photo because it's a good memory. I have to say all that shiny represents hours of work. The stock dual quad intake had been sorta surface polished, I did the full deal.

That required radiusing all of the runner corners with a small ball burr, and overall it took four or five different processes to reach the final polish. I also rechromed the valve covers, and plated the oil pan and everything else steel that's glowing in the photo. I sprayed the block to match the House of Kolor tangerine flake. Aluminum work took a couple of weeks working evenings, and left a coating of black dust on everything in the garage.

But the final result was very rewarding.
