I am not a fan of my 6 but new phones are way too expensive for me right now. I just replaced my battery, stock is 1810mAh. I put a 2200mAh in, should work great the rest of the phones life and only cost $25. The whole process including screen protectors for both our phones was just about an hour.

Can I come by and you can swap mine?? :)

I plan on keeping my 6SE for another year or 2.. I need to get to the Apple store by the end of the year, they will replace the battery for $29.

I looked into that and it would be Las Vegas, Phoenix, SoCal or ship it in and most available appointments required missing work, or shipping it out.

Just had my 6 replaced at Apple. You can go into settings, battery, and then battery health to see its life percentage. Think mine was at 60% before, only lasting about a half a day.
Now I can get a whole day out of it before recharging.

If you are serious, you bring the battery. I have all of the tools.

That would have been a pain. DIY and back in action!

Mine would fully charge. The health app is suspect, it showed mine at 86% capacity still but it would drop fast during the day and I'm not on it as much as I used to be during the day.

Agree that the app is slightly suspect.

As much as I dislike them, Best Buy is a certified apple repair store and can do a battery swap in about an hour. I got my 6 done there this summer.

What was the cost and can they install the larger capacity battery or only original?

I'm betting Best Buy or any certified retailer can only swap in an original. Here is a screenshot of mine fully charged.

I have a iPhone 6 and just recently had the battery replaced by Apple. Cost $28 all up and took them about 2 hours
My phone would charge up fully but would empty very quickly. Apparently the original battery lasted about 3 years which they thought was pretty good.:)

Battery performance update. 36 hours since it has been removed from the charger with normal use yesterday and today, 16% remaining. I know the additional 18% capacity helps but the original battery was just toast. Last week it would barely make it through one day.

The $29 battery replacement deal at the apple store is good if you can get it.

They wouldn’t replace my battery though:
For this deal, Apple won’t replace a battery in a phone “that someone else worked on”.

My phone is a Verizon refurb, evidently it got a replacement screen at some point.

I had to go elsewhere and pay twice as much to get the battery swapped out.

Replaced my I-6 battery recently also at Apple.

I’m going back to a pager and a roll of quarters.
