So here is a bit of a story about the last 6 weeks of my life. Last couple years I go to the funnest neighborhood in the north west ( more about the place later) during the 4th weekend they have quite the lineup of activities for everyone , amongst those activities is a golf cart super soaker parade, golf cart drags, kids bicycle drags and a ton more.
This year my super cool lifted, lighted too much stereo club car is down needing a rearend. It would be damn near criminal for me to show up there with a stock cart as the people I am with all have custom carts , some with my influence others not. So as I was finishing the wedding bench I posted last month on a Saturday night about 9 pm and started to ponder my golf cart dilemma for the 4 th weekend. I have a stock Yamaha gas cart we been pushing the racecar around with and as I was thinking how to quickly and cheaply jazz it up !! My first thought was to just use a bunch of decals to create a graphic styled wrap , i then thought using the state travel decals would be cool , BAM , something in my mind made the jump to a thought.
So at 10 pm on a Saturday night I am racing home to grab my overhead projector and some tracing paper to see if what jumped in my head would work at scale. Well i traced the object off of a internet side view photo made a clear copy for the overhead projector, went and opened the RV shop and put the image up on a sheet of cardboard to look at some dimensions, lined up the wheelbase for scale and stood back and laughed for quite some time as I knew once again I was on to a very crowd pleasing vehicle that would have to get built quickly while juggling trying to paint a rv a day to keep up with full parking lots. The last time I was forced into this position the “BAMBOO RAMBLER” was born in 4 days for a goodguys show ( more on that car later).
With the decision made to build it in a 4 week period after work I got to it. There is so much more to talk about this now that it is mostly done . Enjoy the pics and follow what may be my retirement plan !!! PS i will show to Havasu with a “ to scale” mini pontoon boat in tow , you will LAUGH!
