I want to eventually paint my boat solid white, then later on add striping, etc. Curious if anyone here has experience with interlux perfection via roll and tip? I *CAN* spray but I've seen some AMAZING results. I used the interlux bilgekote and i was amazed with how flat it layed. My bilge is literally a MIRROR finish and its just a bilge paint, not an outside paint. I have experience with how deadly Imron and Awlgrip are to spray, etc and those are really the only 2 I'd like to use since I've seen first hand how durable they are.

I have a selection of Awlgrip colors here at the shop if you want to try it out (along with both spray and roll cat). I spray when I can, roll when I have to. In the back of the parking lot I have our 20' Spectra that was rolled with Awlgrip 20 years ago. Topside is sanded to be refinished but the hull is still the 20 year old finish.

If you want to "choose" Matterhorn White" or "Snow White" I have enough here to do the boat for free.

I've never had good luck tipping after rolling. With the right roller choice, proper reduction and a cool dry place in the shade to work, the paint will flatten out just fine.

Cheers, Mark

And Perfection and Sterling are LP's like Awlgrip. GOOD ventilation is required when rolling/brushing any of this class of paint. It's just not as bad as working in a fog as you spray.
