One of the things that i like about RDP is the friends ive made here, also the people that recognize me and say (hello i'm so and so on the boards,) being that i'm such a not so small guy i'm pretty easy to spot so that helps, and its really cool to put a face to a name, well during Supercat fest was no different, but this time i also i had three different people come up and say hi, and all wanted to express their support for my mom as did a lot of people , but what was different was that all three of them for whatever reason don't post but just read whats going on,
I guess i always assumed that people come on here and lurk for a bit then bail, if they stay they end up posting, guess thats not the case,
Just kind of surprised me, Just another example of how nice this boating community is, even when we don't know how big it is,
Maybe Dave has something telling him how many people visit regularly but don't sign up.

AND I cannot express enough how thankful i am for all you praying for my mom. You all really brought up my spirits this last weekend, but its sad how many people have gone through this or are going through it now

If anyone in the future has any questions or just want to talk give me a call, i will help as much as i can, Dementia makes no sense but having support sure makes it less painful

Dan, Wife and I went to Supercat Fest. We went earlier in the afternnon. 4-5pm. Everyone seemed busy setting up etc. I saw you from afar and said "that's Dan, he's, RDP". Wife said "you know him?" Me "well, yes-from RDP" Next time I'll make sure to properly introduce myself. cheers!

Thanks for taking the time Dan, my wife and I introduced ourselves, Friday afternoon, when you were finished setting up your dually next to the dock. 👍
Pic is just before you backed in.

A former poster here, who we can’t say his name three times, would hit me up occasionally for the same reasons. 😁
That whole cat and mouse thing between Shintoo and said former poster is hilarious. Gives this place character. Reminds me of the game played between Byron (the name’s Brian dammit, and may he RIP) and Tom Brown. Those were the days.

I’m not a social media person, but started lurking in here in 2009 and joined in 2010.
Great site, drama level fits my taste.
Have only met a few folks in person here, while they were refueling at Moore’s Riverboat and Spindrift.
Kudos to everyone on both sides of the internet.

The latter were better days for sure for banter.
Said former poster. Eh.

Mine calls it my male dating site. Kinda funny.

I met Dan and @Tank , great guys. Next time hopefully the clan will be cooperative to hang out longer.

My wife calls it “boat face” like face book for boats. 😂 she knows the drill. 😁

always good meeting cool RDP people (which seems to be the vast majority). We met a lot of RDP’rs this weekend. I just wish there was more time to chill and shoot the shit. Seems at these events there’s so much going on and people coming and going you don’t really get much time between the, “hey, I’m on RDP I go by….” And say a few things and then get distracted by someone or thing else that pulls you away. Probably doesn’t help I was like 10 beers deep at the dock party either. lol. But again great putting faces to names. 😁👍

We were hoping to meet you Dan at super cat fest. I’ve shared about what’s going on with my mom. Like I mentioned in other posts, her mom had it. She has a book recommendation if you read that helped her a lot. Unfortunately, we had a m flat tire on the way out to the river. Roofing nail on a brand new tire and other issues we had that day so we never made it to the show.

I boat the delta. Nor cal boating is outstanding.
Most definitely is. We were lake folks, but the Delta is unbeatable.
Had 2 Kawa standups in the 80’s and would ride for hours. Hit a restaurant, fill up with gas and go, You can boat from Sacramento to San Francisco to Mexico and beyond. Mexico not your thing, turn right at the Golden Gate Bridge and Canada is a short 950 miles away.
Over 1000 miles of navigable water in the Delta. For water skiers, get blown by the wind, take a turn and glass smooth.
Unfortunately, it’s closed. People from all over the world come and can’t see going home. Very affordable living, fuel and alcohol are the main expenses.

Sadly Moores Riverboat & several other waterfront bars mysteriously burned down. I believe Spindrift closed.

Moore’s was arson. Spindrift sold, unfortunately to someone whose experience was on the wrong side of the bar. It was foreclosed on and rumor has it to reopen.
I’d like to see someone get creative with cargo containers at Moore’s. It’s a concrete hull and could be rebuilt, but not in California.
