It's what virtually everybody in any business says when shit is going sideways.

RD

I fixed your post. Boats, cars, home improvement, stocks, everything.

No one really cares if people with enough money to buy a boat get ripped off though.

I wonder if they are still planning to build in Lake Elsinore. Supposedly they had purchased property and was waiting for permits to start building.

That’s funny I was there yesterday and there are 3 builds in process.
One finishing rigging and interior, one waiting for rigging and another ready to come out of the mold ..

Probably filing motion after motion to tie up in court. Keep building boats and if the market falls out in meantime same end result of BK but more cash in pocket. These 3 builds probably had a cash payment discount.

We have the best legal system money can buy, no doubt.

the boat industry is complete madness.
How in the F do these guys make a living? How can you put food on the table and survive. Sign new building leases? order material using PO's? payroll?

magic gets closed by feds.
magics are now being built by someone that cant finish anything
Tim is not in jail.
Interceptor is building again??
Dominator, do they even exist?
Eliminator changes leadership
Fountain had weird stuff
Kowchina, guy gets shot in the head?

Ive missed a bunch. Its either the most risky business there is or the easiest to open.

magic gets closed by feds. The Principal Owner behind Magic at that time was and still is very solvent, after a while you get sick of throwing good money after bad and being in "front of the buying curve" with 100 boats finished ready to rig sitting in your yard and the buying stops its all goes bad with your floor plan Lender really quickly.
magics are now being built by someone that cant finish anything But at least you know they do get finished at some point and they are not going to steal your money
Tim is not in jail. Today......
Interceptor is building again?? No clue
Dominator, do they even exist? They do and they build a lot more boats than you think, none of those boats stay in Havasu - they are also great guys for special projects and deliver on-tine as agreed
Eliminator changes leadership From what I understand Leach got overextended - big storage facilities, big debt etc - why is the change of Ownership a bad thing, I think its a great thing
Fountain had weird stuff Nothing "weird" about it - Reggie (a personal friend) made a lot of money a=but also spent a lot of money - and millions on racing - and then spent stockholder money on everything - this story is pretty simple, you can't spend more than you make forever and expect the stockholders to say "no problem"... and you run out of equity sources at some point especially when sales go to "almost zero" so no way to raise more money
Kowchina, guy gets shot in the head? I do not know this one at all

There are also a lot of success stories... Peter at Skater, Randy at MTI, Tron at Nortec to name a few....... there are many more

He was working on your boat that you put trim tabs on because you could not get the boat on plan and had to teach you how to drive it and was taking them off now. And you owned a lot of boats.

I was just correcting your statement , The boat has a ton of prop slip , and I have had a lot of boats not all of them drive the same . The tabs were done because the x dimension was set extremely high. By the way it did help it plane faster , but felt that they didn't allow the boat pack air right . 97mph wasn't fast enough were also changing the lower unit to gain speed . It is also there for final touch ups.

Louie from Kachina wasn't shot in the head to my knowledge.

Chris from Interceptor called me today and said that there is on going litigation (now going the other way from what I gather) and his lawyer has advised him not to comment with regard to any of the legal matters that were posted on here previously.

Not sure I would believe anything he says. He might be appealing the judgement and counter suing, but my gut says those are stale tactics. If he would admit, yes a judgement has been filed and I am doing x, y and z he would gain more credibility IMO.

I don't know about his business tactics, or as a human, but if an Interceptor deck boat hull found it's way to me, I'd build it and run it. Sounds like majority issues were money, as always.

Harry got shot in a plane he was selling .
His body pushed out over New Mexico in the desert...
Bunch of local boaters organized search parties to help find the body...

Did Chris of Interceptor boats use to own a Tige and Ebbtide dealership in Corona?

That was an extremely shitty deal.. and I always wondered about the backstory on it and why that guy did what he did. That said Debbie at Advantage is as strong as they come and she has done a phenomenal job of guiding that company through the recession and keeping them afloat during the lean years. She has my utmost respect and admiration for being in that situation and not only keeping it alive, but succeeding.

Yea.. How many of these misunderstandings happen with assembly line Pontoon or Wakeboard boats?? LOL.

They have delays all the time. A few members have ordered pontoons that have missed their build schedules by months. The model is different where most wake and pontoons boats are built for inventory. Getting warranty work and production flaws are the biggest complaints. Seems like a lot of them go back to the dealer right after purchase to fix things that aren't right.

What a crazy thread.

Sounds like every toy hauler on the face of the earth :)

I agree with you but at least there is some corporate conglomerate behind the mass produced stuff.. there are throats to choke.

Not a single dude in a wherehouse full of resin fumes that keeps telling you “2 weeks” for 3 years.
