I know there are some people on here in the know.
Our auto insurance for 3 vehicles went $600 for the year.
Our home owners went up $800, no joke 65% increase.

No claims, are any other inmates experiencing this?

You’re late to the party. No claims here. For our motorhome and 2 vehicles I’m paying 6k a year with mercury now. I shopped around and it was honestly still the best rate for us.

My auto almost doubled! I wouldn't mind getting rid of my third car as it would be almost a $2,000/year savings. If you're rural, it's almost getting impossible to get fire.

I wonder if they will reduce your fire insurance if your roof is blue?

Yep got our renewal from Mercury and it went up by $1300 a year from $2600 to just under $4k. Carrier, AIS said Mercury had a 22% increase across the board. Told the agent her math wasn't panning out and to tell Mercury to go pound sand.
AAA came in at $3100 so I signed with them.

I know folks that are potentially having to sell cabins in the cooler areas due to insurance.

Talked to my cousin, the family cabin (sold my interest a few years ago), got the expiring coverage note last week. Insurance states fire risk and will not renew after this season. He is about to find out how difficult it is to insure a log cabin built in 1913! When I owned part of it, I had dealt with finding new insurance and it was not fun or cheap. The cheapest I found was 6k and when my cousin called he said this year it was over 10k. I told him, try and get rental insurance (have your spouse pay rent and sign rental agreement) and if the place goes up, at least the belongings inside are covered.

All insurance companies have had increases across the board.

My wife is an insurance agent and we got a big increase as well. So we shopped around and we still got the best deal by far with Mercury.

Be careful when shopping for a cheaper price as an agent can get you a cheaper price very easy to get your business. All they have to do is reduce coverage.

Make sure your AAA policy has same limits as your old Mercury policy.

My wife always asks her clients. Do you want coverage or a price point?

There has been several threads about it.

My personal auto went up 40% to the point it was higher than my commercial auto.

My waverunner policy no longer will renew in CA once it expires.

Got the termination letter for my Allstate commercial auto few days ago. My agent said try progressive. He is trying to ad 2 of the 3 to my personal but its been a few days and have not heard back. All 3 work rigs locked behind the gate with the German Shepherds. Got a online quote but have not pulled the trigger. Going to have to raise my prices again. Looking like $400 a month per truck with half the coverage I had before. Debating liability only on 1 or 2.

Price anything to be done to your house or car and it’s astounding how much the estimate is. Add hurricanes, tornados and false claims to their costs.

Im selling the bed of my brand new F-350. I told the outfitter maybe we can get $500 bucks for it . He laughed and said the tail lamps are $2,000 alone.

Everything else has gone up the past 3 years 20-30% since Biden, Insurance is just now catching up.

Boat, 2 snowmobiles, enclosed car hauler, 4 cars. Good records but higher policy limits…over $9k a year now.

Same vehicles since end of 2020….premiums have over doubled…. Boat is consistent, trailer consistent, snow stuff has gone up, but the vehicles…just insane.

My brother in law in Missouri has a 6,000 sq ft house and is on his second roof and all new siding and complete deck rebuild in 5yrs due to hail damage.

More insurance claims higher rates.

It’s not just CA making claims on fires.

I’d be interested to see the coverages/deductibles, and limits for that…. My snowmobiles which are restricted use to specific months are more than that per year….

Get old junk. The newest thing I have insured is a 1987 Camaro I have 9-10 cars with aaa I have another 9-10 cars with Grundy Full coverage on all. Stated value on the grundy policies. 5k a year. Some of the numbers you speak is nuts. Insurance is my second biggest expense with my shop insurance and workman’s comp too.

Prior year it was 725. The year before that it was 625.

My AAA auto insurance renewal is coming up in June.

as most of you know I run 5 trucks hauling boats. I renewed this last monday. My commercial cargo for one million coverage was $43,000 My auto liability and physical damage is $165,000 so I am over $200,000 for one year. This is why sometimes I open my mouth when I see someone hauling commercially without being legal. Its expensive to run legal

It could be worse you could live in one of the states that have increased more than California.

I only looked at the bank rate one and it is not accurate. Last year I had Florida Car Insurance and it was 1800 yr. Now it is registered in TN and it is 1200 yr. Same coverage 300/500 on a 21 Lexus NX300.

WE had to split our cars with different companies, I have a older Camaro, thats with Haggerity now vs State farm, kids in college is was cheaper to insure them in the states they go to school with State Farm vs with State Farm here in Texas. Boat is now on its own policy vs State Farm. Saved us about 1200 a year with same coverage.

I agree it pisses me off. I’m curious to see my renewal come September.

How many trucks are you running now?

Just got my "regular auto insurance" renewal. 2 vehicles w/ full coverage, and my Motorhome.
Policy went up $1200 per year! No changes, perfect driving record, married and this includes multi-policy bundle with homeowners.

Was thingking of shopping around, but I don't wat to fuck with my homeowners, as that hasn't gone thru the roof (yet) so i'm leery of doing anything to screw it up.

Luckily, Boat insurance hasn't changed in 10 years, Offroad toy insurance didn't really change, and classic car insurance hasn't changed more than a few $. Those are separate policies

Main reason rates are going up is because of inflation . It cost more to fix a car or rebuild a home because the cost of parts and building materials has skyrocketed . Just another side effect of Bidenomics .

The state (CA) needs to increase the minimum coverage. It's only $5k in CA! There's bicycles that cost more than that! They make all the people who actually give a damn pay crazy premiums while the state lets all these idiots in buckets drive around with $5k liability coverage. They're the ones weaving through slow freeway traffic and being reckless; What do they have to loose? I believe it's only $15k in AZ, better but still not enough.

I think nationwide, the minimum liability should be at least the average price of a new car. If people cant afford it, they can get their POS off the road and take the bus. My wife and I have both been hit by these idiots and had to make claims under our own insurance and suffer financial loss. These people face no consequences for ruining other peoples property and causing injuries to others; This needs to change.

People like us want to to the right thing, protect our assets and others so we pay high premiums. All the while the dickhead in his 94 Civic w/ the muffler cut off and hub caps removed gets a policy from Adriana's insurance for a measly $5k and is free to drive like a tool without any real responsibility or liability.

Liberty Mutual dropped our business insurance. No claims in over 20 years. Allstate dropped our company van (had a very small claim 3 years ago) a month later.

We ended up combining both with The Hartford and saving about 1k per year with better coverage for both.

Not to mention within just my family we’ve had 2 accidents that were caused by the other person who, was illegal and had no insurance.
It’s going to be a shit show the next few decades with all the new “migrants”.

January 1 2025 minimum in CA is increasing to 30/60/15

Property damage is still low but it’s better than before.

I am with Allstate. 2023 it was $1,678.05 for 6 months for three cars (300/100). 2024 it went up to $2,323.08. I traded in my 2017 Volt and bought a 2024 Colorado ZR2 and it went to 2,791.03. The crazy thing is after shopping around it looks like it may be a good deal. Farmers quote was $4,000 for six months. I am going to continue to shop around but my home is with Allstate too, so I don't know what it would do to my homeowners policy (which has more than doubled in the last 5 years). I may just increase the deductibles.

My sister is in Redding and the last big fire was only a few hundred yards away from her home. The only reasonable insurance she found was USAA, but you or a family member have to have been in the service. My dad was navy, but passed, her father in law joined and they joined under him. Might be worth checking out.

My Allstate went from $1700 on my personal auto to $2800 for 3 vehicles. Just got renewal notice $3600 and change. No claims ever. Crazy.

I just paid for Progressive on my commercial auto a hour ago. Allstate no longer will write commercial in CA. $4400 a year for 3. Only odd thing was there max medical is $5000. But only added like $15-20 per vehicle.

Going to ad waverunners to Progressive since Allstate company specialty I had said no more CA. Going to get a personal auto quote from them next.

The boss just got our renewal. Ridicules increase and all. Spent a few days reviewing everything and went shopping for a new agent. Sadly the wife was in the industry for 30 years and the companies don’t care any more. Sad to see what the world is becoming for the future generations.

F me. I had high risk insurance for my home through a AAA subsidiary called Assurant. I just got my notice of non-renewal.

Their reason? My wild fire score is over 2. WTF. What’s 1 and 2? The moon?

Guess I get to go shopping for insurance again. Sounds more and more it’s the Fair Plan (at an unfair price) + renters insurance for my contents.

I’ll call some of the suggestions in this thread but I doubt I’ll get lucky.
