I'm curious on inspire also. The idea sounds good, but......a electrical device in my neck. I dunno

I have a Cpapp and Im OK using it. Just a nose pillow, mot a mask. Was curious as to how well that Inspire gizmo really worked.

I switched from a mask to the nose pillow - wow, what a difference. I am intrigued by the Inspire Sleep unit, but not the implant part.

My brother in law has the Inspire and says it’s been great. He just had to have it replaced after 5 or so years. It’s an actual surgery to implant and replace it. But he has been happy with it.

Cpap saved my life. Literally.

My original plan was to have my tonsils removed but even then, I still have a thick neck.

cannot sleep without my machine and I wake up so much more rested. Yea I wish I didn’t have to use it but I’m hoping long term I can drop enough weight to ween myself off one day, for now, I’d much rather have it than an implant

Yea I was so bad they sent me to a specialist and the shit he wanted to do. Shave my throat down, open up the entrance, couldnt eat or be out side for 8 weeks. I had to get on a machine as well for sleep purposes. I did sleep better.

You might consider seeing a dentist who specializes in airway and getting a sleep study done before going down that route. Worth looking into oral appliances that may help with the obstruction that is the cause of the sleep apnea. I dont know much about that inspire implant truthfully but it were me I would taking a hard look at all other avenues before resorting to surgery, if possible.

She had a 3 day monitor hope sleep study and now will have a overnite study , she has a (ENT verified) deviated septum which may be partially responsible meanwhile I got her a "nose pillow" to try for now

A racing friend of mine that attended twenty some Indy 500s (that's where we first met) died in the early 90s at age 49 from obstructive sleep apnea. That was listed as the actual cause of death, he stopped breathing long enough to lapse into unconsciousness and the lack of oxygen to the brain was fatal.

At that time, I was ignoring my years of loud and continuous snoring while sleeping, and somehow my wife was able to sleep in spite of it. I had a sleep study done after Glenn died, and discovered I was having more than two interruptions per minute, about 140 an hour. That was thirty years ago.

As an adult I've always been overweight, fluctuating between 240 and 260, and up to 300 twice. Now I'm at 205 because of issues related to 2021 cervical fusion surgery, weighed 295 before that surgery. I don't know if I still have sleep apnea, but continue to use the CPAP. There's no way I could function without the machine, it's ingrained in my sleep habits.

If you snore or experience repeated sleep interruptions, get tested. It could save your life, and at a minimum change your energy levels and make your life immeasurably better.

I have a small airway and had issues with headaches and being tired all the time. This was I was in my early 30's, and I was in great shape. Worked out daily and ate very healthy. None of my docs thought to test for sleep apnea because I did not fit the mold of the common SA patient. When I finally got a sleep study is was obvious I had SA. As soon as I started using a CPAP my symptoms went away. I have been using it long enough now that I can't sleep without it. If you think you could have SA, ask your doc for a sleep study.

You guys know we are great friends. Been neighbors at multiple places in havasu.
JB and his wife have seen my sons grow up. We do holidays, pool time, concerts.
In person the comments are way better 😁

Dude I am right there with you, and the story of your friend is terrifying enough to make me sleep upright on a couch if I cant use my machine

Breath Rite Strips / They Work / NFL & MLB use Them.....:😎
I use them nightly and before applying I swab my Nose Clean with Alcohol to remove any oil or residue / I Wake up with a Clear Head !
Somewhere I seen an ad, it uses a stiff strip with magenets and I assume something inside the nostrils for those magnets to stick to. Same principle.

Full mask guy. Zero issues sleeping.

I had my yearly physical today. Nurse looks down my throat 'you have a cpap right? There not much room back there'

The complete opposite of JBNSOCAL. Plenty of throat room

The way I read this is a BJ from you would be way better and tighter 🤣
😁 Seems like a fact you shouldn't know or share about your buddy 🌈

My wife has a singing voice that needs no amplification in an auditorium..
When she snores in her singing voice the clay shingles on the house flap up and down, the cat doors swing all the way in inhaling,, then swing all the way out exhaling,,

… Had a friend… We will just call him Scary Gary… His son Clinton…had sleep apnea…He had a CPAP machine…(Scary Gary’s snoring could rattle windows)…Clinton somehow had broken his CPAP machine…and was going to get it fixed…but had gotten away without using it for a week or so… Scary Gary came home one night and Clinton had simply stopped breathing in his sleep and had died… I don’t even think he was 30…

A friend of mine recommended getting the machine. He said it's a life changer. I had resisted up to that point and went and got one last April. It has changed my life. All kinds of issues I had have gone away. I no longer have respiratory allergies. After 20 years of wearing contacts, two years ago i could no longer wear contacts, some sort of reaction i was having. I can now wear contacts again, weird. 100% of the time I'm sleeping within a minute of putting the nose pillow on.

Now I'm worried about the machine breaking so I'm getting a second travel unit. I don't want sleep without it.

I’ve got the Air-Mini and it’s great for traveling and as a backup.

I tried this little thing from Amazon for short trips or to Baja where there isnt always power. Seemed to move enough air but it doesnt stay in place by itself. Trying to attach one of my old head bands to it and then will try it again.
