I have 2 like that. One was Pops' and has the same spout. Mine has the standard lid. Both of them dented and dinged, years of being on the passenger floorboard. Drink half before work to wake up, some at lunch, and the rest to stay awake for the drive home...

Miserable in a way, but actually good memories of working both with Pops and on my own🥲

The adjustable pouring spout is interesting. I've never seen one like it. I've had this thing since the 70s. I have no idea how it has survived moving to other states and countless apartments and homes.

I still have my dads exactly like this somewhere. He never left the house without it. Took it to work with him everyday. When we went fishing it would have a splash of whiskey😁

We had one years ago. Have no idea what happened to it.

Mine is about 32 years old. I think it was a common tool for the field service engineer, and anyone who worked 2nd or third shift.

I have one just like it. Got it back in the 70's. The adjustable pour spout used to not come with the thermos. I remember getting that spout as a stocking stuffer for Christmas one year. Thanks Mom !

I knew IBEW guys excel at taking coffee breaks, but wasn't aware it was part of apprentice training during the first week.

😁
Much of the 1st period (6 mo) is dedicated to the proper "Unionization" of new members, both in class and especially on the larger projects. On those projects apprentices are taught to "Slow the fuck down there sport", don't put your brothers out of a job or make us look bad. Then the all important lesson of how to carry around the same stick of 3/4" emt, acting busy and the number of feet of conduit the job Steward didn't want us to exceed per day. 😖

I believe that 'Open Shop' competition gave the IBEW cause to step up their game and work with their contractors to make money as a way of guaranteeing continuing employment rather than milking projects dry. 👍

I got my first Stanley, 64 oz, in '88. (18 years old and a CDL 👍)
I inherited my Pops one in '97, and he had it since he started trucking in '66. It has the rubber stopper.
My wife got me a new one in '01 or '02.
Granddaughter decided I needed a new vintage one, quart sized for Christmas '22.
