I once heard it said its all about relativity...

When you are 20, a year is 5% of your life - When you are 40, its 2.5%. The longer you live, the shorter each year seems in relation to the rest of your life.

By the time your over 50 - its really flying by!!

Turning 47 in April. Crazy how time is passing by so quickly. We are having fun with life so really do not have any complaints... we are ready for the next 47 years o_O

Exactly right. Tell a 5 year old he's going to Disneyland next summer and he'll never understand when that is

Tell a 55 year old he's going next summer and he'll feel panicked about all the stuff he has to do before then

I remember, what seems like only a couple years ago, when I was 50 that in five years I’ll be 55 and eligible to retire. All of a sudden I’ll be 54 tomorrow.

Before my dad passed away he said life will go by faster than you could ever imagine, as in my case he was right again...
My dad said basically the same thing. He said the older he got the faster time went. Boy he was right. After high school time was like a blur.

61 - still was able to pull out deep water on the slalom last spring, but every year gets to be harder - i feel like 13 inside, so i'm terrified i'll out live my resources, but history, and the female in charge keeps saying quit worrying and enjoy what you have!!! Lost my best friend last year at 61-perfect shape, more money than he could have ever burned through, i had spent all day with him, and was supposed to meet with him the next morning to work all day - i was on the roof cussing his tardiness when the boss pulled in and told me he was gone - really seems like life is moving too fast right now. They tell me i need enough to get to 90+, but when i can't handle the boat by myself, i don't really care about running out - just hope and pray every night i don't die in the hospital - it's all you can really ask for!!!!

I will be 56 in July and the years seem to be screaming by. My daughter gave birth to my Grandson Carson in October and have been spending a fair amount of time with them both. Makes me cry to think that 27 years ago my daughter was born and now she has children. Love watching the circle of life and it really makes you realize how short and precious life is.

63- I agree time is going faster the older I get. Seems like yesterday my kids were in high school now they are 36/38.

You better go out and have fun while you can because we will all run out of time.

You want time to go slow, watch a tool change on my old Fadal 4020!:)

I love me some Fadals...

I had a Kitamura Mycenter 1 with an umbrella tool changer as one of my first two machines, break time..... :)

Horizontals take their sweet ass time for sure too.

65 and wondering where it went..Had the grandson's (Honyocks) over last night for about 30 minutes...got on Youtube and looked us up some three stooges...they are 8 and 6..the laughing out of those two brought tears to my eyes...where did the time go. My Mom and Dad used to take us to the movies and the Stooges were on before the movie started..Crap...that was 60 years ago. All I can say is this...get out and enjoy it...I don't feel 65 and I certainly don't act 65 but Damn I AM 65...

I celebrated my 55th in January. :cheers

It's like a roll of TP, the closer you get to the end of the roll the faster it goes.

I can relate to slalom skiing at an “advanced age.” I’m now 66, and my favorite memory of boating is pulling my Dad waterskiing when he was 84 years experienced in life. I still look forward to boating and waterskiing behind my Schiada V-drive, with my wife driving it. Keeps me feeling like a teenager like I was waterskiing at Lake Arrowhead back in the ‘60’s thru the ‘80’s. “Old Guys Rule” comes to mind.

I'm going to combos when i can't get out on the slalom, but i'll know the days are short when that day comes. When i can't get out on slaloms, i hope it's only minutes left at that point!!!! I've already given up trying to throw up a wall, i just want to ride now - my new big goal is to see my grandkids ski - that will definitely make me cry!!!!

Try a wider and a bit longer slalom ski with a wider tail. I use my Endo’s racing ski and it’s fine for doing deep water starts. I used to just jump off the end of the dock to start when I was younger skiing at Lake Arrowhead.

I'm gonna toss my .02 in here. If you have kids, make whatever effort it takes to spend time with them. If it's an older kid that you don't get along with, make a double effort. I fucked up with mine and never got the chance to make it up to her. I would gladly trade my life for hers if it would bring her back. She was the only perfect thing I have ever done. Ive fucked up alot of things but not bringing her into this would. Not a day goes by I don't wish she was still here.

This year I have been making a solid effort to leave work at 430 so I can spend time with my twins that will be turning 2 soon. Nothing worse than leaving before they wake up and getting home when there already in bed.

Sometimes I think about trading in my life style and leaving my corporate job for something simpler so I can spend more time with my kids. We will see what the next few years being.

I know that feeling too fell. I leave the house at 4:15 and don't get home until after 7. My 3 year old might still be up but not often, my 19 month old is always in bed. I leave by noon on Fridays no ifs, ands or buts so I can spend time with them and don't work weekends. It is something I really struggle with, the worst is seeing them go down Sunday evening and know you won't see them until they get up Saturday morning.

Most of us 60 year olds will tell you what happened?? How did I become 60 and my kids in their 30s.
I have a feeling the next 20 will even go faster and 80 does not look fun.
We just bought our Havasu house in 2001! How many years ago.

Every once in a while, i read something that i just can't shake - i was on Linkedin and saw this quote that i think fits in this thread. I'm 61, been working since i was 8, and i know it to be true:
