Who for a second thinks that any of these fires were started by accident? I know the fire triangle

and wind is only a supercharger to the oxygen. A supercharger with no spark means nothing.
If I were a betting man, I’d wager a lot that all these fires were set on purpose. I’d continue to add that maybe someone connected to a fire department who 1 month ago sent a letter to the mayor about budget cuts might try to show people how important/needed they are.
Seems to me more likely than not 🤷‍♂️

That would be a huge accusation with lives lost. I sure hope not.

I've got my thoughts, I posted them in another thread

Most fires in populated areas are man made.

Careless idiots driving cars and parking in the brush, or flicking cigarettes or intentionally starting fires because they are sick fucks.

Lightning starts fires but we haven't had rain since like March.

Possible, but I’ve tried to start many a bonfire with cigarette’s, or whatever we had when we forgot lighter fluid. They didn’t start very easily.

The only way I can see them being “unintentional” would be if it was homeless. (In quotes because California intentionally allows the homeless free rein.)

I’d like to think not. But if you back some years I think there was a captain ( don’t quote me) that was convicted of multiple murders for this exact thing. Prove a point or be a hero. 😡

I think that is a pretty far reach! Winds are a super charger, but, they also bring down power lines and may lead to a spark getting out of control. To say a Fire Department would set fires, if that is what you are saying, no way! Now, nut cases and has anyone considered terrorist attacks, ???????

I know of at least 6 incidents of Fire Department members starting fires. But they were all in relatively rural areas with Volunteer Fire Fighters, and were set so they could get paid.

Yes, I know of a few too. But to say THE “Fire Department” encouraged or started the fires is just not so. (that I know of or Believe!)

Terrorist claim their attacks. They have to to strike terror. I haven’t heart them claim it yet. Not to mention that setting a fire that does this much damage would be hard to plan/predict.
I don’t think a firefighter started these fires, but wouldn’t rule it out. (Union guys get fanatical about their jobs).

I 100% think these were all started intentionally by physic paths of some sort.

I'm usually a fairly skeptical person.....but I'm on the side who thinks these are all intentionally set.

I don't believe THE Fire dept did it.
But I remember in 2008 in YL a son of a fireman was setting fires, and in 1996-7?? a fireman was accused of arson. also in OC.
So the thought of a disgruntled "expert" could be setting fires is not out of the question.

Nut Case! Wasn’t “authorized” by the department.
I should probably edit my first post to “someone maybe attached” instead of “fire department”. I do not for a second think that a department would do this. I do think a crazy person maybe connected to one could. 🤷‍♂️

Since we are exploring conspiracy theories, heres mine.

The news has both arsonists and looters on its payroll. When the weather cooperates, they use them to justify a narrative. The news is no longer unbiased, they have chosen the radical left and all the agenda that entails.

Absolutely! All professions have their rotten apples. The fire department is not immune to this.

People have always blamed "cigarettes" for starting fires when I smoked for 25 years (I quit 13 years ago) I have thrown a lot of butts on the ground and never started a fire. Especially the "newer" (15 years?) that have a chemical so they don't keep burning when not being actively smoked.

I have seen metal chains or equipment being dragged on the road sparking. That gets the blame a lot here.

How can a downed line start a fire when the electricity is turned off?

If the fire started when the area power was shut off they can eliminate that as a cause. Move on to other causes. Have to eliminate those causes before they can say “arson”.

The fire in Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda in 2008 was started by a faulty catalytic converted on a car that was parked on the 71 freeway. 🤔

Funny story. I was not there but a Captain friend was on scene of a vehicle fire with vegetation involved. No big deal put it out and investigated. The party had pulled off the road into some weeds and the catalytic converter touching the weeds started the fire. When CHP showed up the party driving the vehicle overheard the captain telling the officer the Catalytic Converter started the fire. The vehicle driver jumped in and said, “That’s not a Cadallic Convertible, It’s a Olsmobile Cutlass”! Can’t make that shit up! 😂😂😂

Imagine if you will. That you live in California and you are homeless and there is a ton of illegal aliens everywhere. And you just happen to be the unfortunate one that became homeless and it's cold and windy outside. And you're just trying to stay warm so you start yourself a little fire to try to stay warm and not freeze to death. And things get out of hand really quick! I'm just thinking outside the box.

Not out of the box. Unfortunately it happens often.

John Leonard Orr (born April 26, 1949) is an American convicted serial arsonist, mass murderer and former firefighter. A fire captain and arson investigator in Glendale, California, Orr was convicted of serial arson and four counts of murder; he is believed to have set nearly 2,000 fires in a thirty-year arson spree, most of them between 1984 and 1991, making him the most prolific serial arsonist in American history.

90% of fires the LAFD put out are homeless fires.
