Anyone have any experience?

My step mother was a hypnotherapist… I had to type up her license form and it read like some kind of hippy-dippy LSD trip. But she managed to get onto some daytime shows (like Geraldo and some other one, I’m thinking Dr Phil) and apparently was good enough at it to go back a few more times.

I don’t buy into it, but apparently it’s a job option.

I was at the Alaska State Fair many years ago.
They had a hypnotist on stage, he brought a bunch of volunteers up on stage. As his show progressed he let certain people go back to their seats who weren’t as ‘receptive’ to being hypnotized. The last 5-6 people on stage were doing all sorts of crazy stuff. It was hysterical.
The show went on pretty long.

After it was over, everyone was leaving and several people came up on stage to talk to the guy.
Then all of a sudden one of the dudes who was on stage under hypnosis came up PISSED OFF.
He was yelling, “You didn’t tell me I’d be up on stage for over an hour, I was supposed to be somewhere”…., he continued, “Make this shit go away NOW I still don’t feel right”!!!

The guy was apologetic, took him towards the back of the stage , sat him down & did his Voo Doo on him to make snap out of it.

I’m not saying it was or wasn’t staged, but that dude was a gnarly looking dude & seemed genuinely pissed…. even I felt a little ‘wonky’ watching the show. LOL

Weird Stuff. I’m not a believer or dis-believer… but that was trippy.

High school psychology class teacher did it a couple times a year parents had to sign a waiver. He’d look over the class one at a time and pick the students he thought were susceptible to it and called them up to the front of the class then narrow it down from there. It was funny shit! Some of the kids that didn’t get called up still in their chairs would go out when he snapped his fingers! doubt schools would let it happen again.

We used to watch a guy at the fair every year, pull people out of the audience and yes have them doing stuff in public you would not do unless you were under. It was a crack up to say the least. Not staged. Also seen it work for some to stop smoking.

Yeah. I tried being hypnotized to quit smoking. Didn't work for me..

I have a friend who studied for a long time to be a court reporter. Sadly all three times that she took the test to get certified, her nerves would get the best of her, and she wouldn't perform well. One night we went to a hypnotist's show and she was one of the people in the audience that went under unexpectedly. After the show her husband talked to the hypnotist about helping her out with her test anxiety.
The next time she took it she aced it. The demonstrations of strength that I was seeing on stage that night could not have been faked. It is real, but it doesn't work for everyone.
