Captain Jacks / Plus They Have a Dock on The Backside in Huntington Harbour / Access will be determined by your Draft and/or if it is low tide or minus low tide 😎

Todd I'm not a seafood lover, but my wife is and they loved when I would take her to Dukes.

A little fancier down the street is Rusty Pelican, always a favorite.

A few more choices in the general 'area' . . . .

Calico Fish House in Surfside has good food . . . the location has changed hands a few times over the years . . . but it's current program is serving up really good food.
The atmosphere doesn't have that old school 'fish-house' vibe, more contemporary . . . but the food is good.

Also , I haven't been there yet . . . but I've only heard good things about 'Broad Street Oyster Company' at the end of the HB Pier. Not even sure what's on their entire menu. I've asked people coming out of there, 'How was the food'?, and everyone's replied 'Great' ! . . . take that for what it's worth.

A few more miles up PCH, 'The Crab Pot' in Alamitos Bay . . . it can be hit or miss . . . but it's cool. Bit of a dice roll though.

Also in Alamitos Bay 'San Pedro Fish Market' is worth considering . . . used to be Joe's Crab Shack . . . elevated restaraunt overlooking the bay.

If straight 'quality' is your jam, 'Seal Beach Fish Company' is top notch seafood . . . it's pricey, and the menu is not really my vibe . . . but their quality is undeniable.

I like dukes, it's not an all fish restaurant but it reminds me of Hawaii and food is good, great people watching spot also. Seal Beach Fish Company is the real deal for sea food but a little drive from HB, in laws favorite, not my jam.

Wander on down to Newport beach maybe 20 minutes to the Crab Cooker. Excellent food, no views though unless you walk across PCH to the Newport pier and boardwalk.

Went to Calico a few weeks ago for the first time with a group of friends. Basic stuff was fine, but getting correctly cooked fish was a no-go. Stick to fish tacos or lobster rolls there.

Good restaurants and HB should not be used in the same sentence but if I were forced to do something that met your 3 requirements, I'd go to Zubies Dry Dock on Adams.
Good call ! . . . nothing great / nothing bad . . . picnic table seating, tons of TV's . . games for the kids, and aquariums on the wall . . . 🤘

Mahe or captain Jacks u can’t go wrong
Agreed on the food . . . I just don't dig places that treat you as a 2nd class citizen if they suspect you're not a 'Local' . . . how they 'think' they have that figured out is beyond me.
Mahe' is the worst . . . f-that place, IDK care how good their food is.
Maybe the geezers at Cpt. Jacks check wrists for Rolex's, or are used to getting slid a hundo upon entry . . . either way . . . shine.

I was planning on dropping your name for some street cred, hoping that helps.

If you don't care about money and want quality food and service, Water Grill in Costa Mesa. Captain Jacks you're gonna be crunched into some booth without the ability to hear the people across the from you. Last time we ate there we had some fools pressing their booth into our area , moving my chest closer to the table. I'd do a hard pass on that place unless you sat in the bar area. Covid turned that place upside down in the dining room.

Have you tried Ocean 48 yet? Water Grill was our go-to, but Ocean 48 may be our new one after Valentines dinner. Very good.

ill do ya one better than zubies, and thats the chicken coop in Newport. they have the original tables from zubies. everyone who works there is related somehow to the owner. some of the stiffest drinks and great food. just remember they are CASH only.

sounds about right, the place looks kind of divey, and for sure lots of morning drinkers. the bartender is the owner, which i find suprising, normally when the owner is pouring drinks they are pretty weak, not with Horacio. pours them stiff and loves to talk shit with the customers. we eat there a couple times a month.
