Two guys called me within the past week asking to trade a boats for land.

They both said they're not getting any bites on their boats and need the cash from them to buy land. One had a Cole and the other a Mastercraft.

Seems like a year ago, used boats sold in a weekend. Has it changed?

Are the deals coming back?

I can’t find anything yet. Hallett 240, 270 and 300 are all up.

Howard Bullets are non existent

Laveys with good gel are hard to find and pricy if you do.

I would say things are definitely dropping. I'm planning on dropping the price on my boat this week because I'm not going to be able to use it in the near future anyways.

When is the ankle surgery? How long of a PT are you being told this time.
Hoping this surgery relieves the pain and allows you greater movement and less pain on a daily

They are all sitting also. People that really want or need to sell will lower the prices. I am on the hunt for the same it sounds like.

My bet is that when the shit really starts to hit the fan this time people will be forced to sell their toys rather than walk on their house because the Government won't be in any position to bail them or clearly the banks out this time around.
LOL

Are they still handing out boat loans like candy or has that slowed down?

With the economy on life support and inflation likely to increase in 2023 with fuel prices hitting record highs it's a bad time to be selling any ICE Toy at this time. I'd love to upgrade to a nicer boat but with 91 octane fuel prices possibly hitting $7 bucks next year I'm probably going to be on the side lines for a while.

Not saying it’s not dropping but it’s also end of season. Sales are probably slow unless it’s a really good deal.
Yeah I agree, definitely off season so not flying off the shelf, I feel like it will be pretty solid once we get closer to season.

The good custom manufacturers seem to have 2 year plus backlogs, so prices will likely hold pretty steady or climb again, clearly a demand.

I have an extra boat I would prefer not to own at the moment almost sold for 105k but failed lake test 🤦‍♂️ now minimal bites at 90k.

I'm on the hunt for my first Hallett. Looking for a 210 or 255, but these $100K+ prices are insane. I'm betting on the used market around Jan/Feb looking really good.

I’m not sure yet I have to have a meeting with my insurance company to figure out wtf happened on the last go around..

Recovery is 6-8 weeks

I don’t think I have ever seen a 210 or a 255 priced that high? 😳. Granted they are still costing more than I’d pay

Both are more than $100K new at this point. The used 255s that are a couple years old are right there.

I doubt there will be a lot of people that will be walking from their houses this time. This time around people weren't over qualified for what they could afford, fixed interest rate (which is low), and rent is more expensive than their mortgage. Renters will have the biggest hardships. Home owners will just stop paying other bills before loosing their place to live.

I'm waiting for all those people that bought boats and RV's on credit for COVID to sell for pennies on the dollar...haha
I bet there will be some but I think a big majority of people paid cash for their toys. They got the cash from investment accounts.

Yuck. So much for an off-road season.
Hopefully is gets resolved soon and 2023 boating season could start late.

I think we are going into winter so sales will slow like usual. I’ve been reading on here for years the crash is coming next week for used boats. Still waiting. Will we see a correction 100% will used take a complete shit? Who knows. New boat builds are so expensive I think the used market will stay somewhat strong? Then again I’m just a 30 year old idiot so what do I know.

I kinda feel the same way.

Its like the used diesel market. As soon as the trucks went from 45k to 85k in a matter of 4-6 years it just made the used market go nuts. Not everyone is looking for a 200k dollar new boat, thats for sure.

It's just like any other market, there are price points. Anything requiring mid grade financing will slow. The sub 30k boats will sell to cash buyers and the big biy stuff will continue to sell, it the mid grade guys that are going to see the biggest slow down

I could sell both my Whalers in a day for twice what I paid for them (which was top dollar at the time)…. Not because they’re anything special … but because they are fuel efficient ‘do anything’ boats, that you can tow w/ a Tacoma ….

Its all about supply and demand.

Im sure the pontoon market will see a price drop. I see cabala’s and others selling these things on credit. I think they are 18-22 footers with a small outboard motor. $20-$35k.

They never did. Are home loans being given out like candy? If you fit the specific criteria, you’re approved. You need good credit and a good mix of credit history.

I focus mostly on RV lending but the market has and is dropping. Diesel pushers are coming down quick.

Pretty hard to sell for pennies on the dollar when you are underwater by 20k. Most people aren't going to write that check so they just let them rot in storage lots and make low payments monthly until they claim bankruptcy...lol

I have my nice 210 available at Cobra Performance Boats in Montclair after I picked-up a Nordic Rage they had...
Give Hernando a call at 909 482-0047 if you're interested.

Cheers!
Post a pic or 2 and put a fair price on it and it will be gone by the end of the day!

This was my thought as well.

I'm sure there will be some deals to be had but I'm doubtful of a melt down fire sale

I think we all forgot that boats are not a investment .Off-road toysthat same .
There like a bucket with a hole in the bottom.
All of them were over priced
So if your selling you might have missed the high market timing

I hear new boat prices is going up next year, along with new Car prices.

Not as much as last year, but they are going up.

It seems pretty damn soft to me. Almost NO bites on my boat. I would love for someone to take my Lavey off my hands.

Boats are sitting, prices are dropping and Newsom won again so the fire sale is coming till hopefully the country does an upturn. Plus, he is gonna use every cubic foot of water he can to spin the turbines so the electrical load for Cal can be met just to push his green shit. (Sorry, couldnt resist) Imo, toy prices are going down across the country. Everyday living is getting expensive AF.
