The wife and I finally caved and we are taking our kids (10/7) to Disneyland. We will be in Cali for a bmx race already, and decided to surprise them for a Christmas present. Anyways, I haven’t been to Disneyland in like 25 years. We are staying at the rv park nearby. We will pull into rv park on Sunday afternoon after we race that morning. We have Sunday afternoon/night , Monday and Tuesday. Drive home Wednesday. Any tips or tricks would be great. We haven’t purchased passes yet. We are definitely not Disney people, the wife thinks it should be part of a childhood memory. Thanks for any help.

My wife just took the kids. I was working out of state but they had a blast. I built guardian of the galaxy so i like to tell people to check it out. If your kids are young maybe don’t ride it. My kids are the ones in the back row crying 😂 one with my wife and one w grandma

Are you guys trying to do anything over the top? There are some cool options for behind the scenes type stuff.

First don’t go I hate that place to start but I give in because my wife enjoys going there and we get in for free. If not for that we would not be going. Did you get reservations yet? If not you might not get in because it’s always packed during Christmas time. Be patient because lines are long.

Avoid Mondays. Used to be the best day. It's changed.
Check around some good deals for Cali residents.

You can download the app, I think it helps with showing wait times and has a map. Check what rides are closed and maybe plan what everyone really wants to go on. Go and have fun with your family and make some good memories. 👍🏻

I will add it’s crazy expensive. My wife’s aunt and uncle work there so we only had to pay for two tickets but it was still extremely expensive and it was Luke’s birthday so they bought like light sabers and stuff. Very expensive but well worth it. They had a blast.

Pack your patience and tolerance for wokeism is all I can say. Every specie and gender will be on full display.

But…it does bring out the inner child at times. The sights, the smell of fun food, the innocence of being a child. Make the time about your family and put the blinders on and have fun!

First step is to get reservations for the dates you want at Disneyland. If you can't get a reservation you can't get in, even if you have season passes. This is just reserving the actual date, not tickets. You will need to get the tickets on your own. Disneyland is having a good deal for locals right now, like $65 a day for a 3 day pass or something. I don't know if you know anyone in socal that maybe able to get that deal for you. I heard it on the radio so you will need to look into it.

Other tips is if you have a small child that can't ride the big ride you are on, go to the geanie pass lane and as the staff member for a "rider swap" and you show the child that is too small to ride. They will give you 2 free passes to the ride so the person that waits with the child can cut to the front of the line and ride. Works out great once you learn how to use it.

They now offer a way to pay to cut to the front of the line. Sometimes it's $30 for a single ride or sometimes its $30 for a group of rides. If it's a busy day it can be worth it. If you have to wait 2 hours for a ride you will only get in 3-4 all day. If you pay you can do double or triple that. Takes some planning and research to use it effectively. You are basically reserving time slots for each ride, so if you do it right you can really stack them up, if you do it wrong you can waste the pass.

It can take some time switching parks. Everything looks close but it's not when strollers are around. And you to wait in the ticket line again when you switch parks so if it's busy you can waste 15-20 min standing in line between parks. You can waste a lot of time if you jump back and forth unnecessarily.

If you are into food they got some unique foods but they are usually only offered at one or two cart or restaurant. So if you see something that looks neat online find where it is sold other wise you won't be able to find it easily. And some of those bars/restaurants need reservations. Stuff like the start wars bar you can make the reservation day of (like star wars bar) and some you need to make months in advance (like Blue Bayou).

Well when i went back after 20+ years it was crazy that it was exactly how i remember. I remembered walking down the exact paths walkways and rides. As far as tips there aren’t any deals so take that off the list to worry about and bring your patience for the day.

Our family has done it on Christmas day one thing will be if you want to see the Christmas parade in actual disneyland not California adventure you better be there early. Chances are if you do cal adventure first yall might not make into disneyland.

My daughter and wife wanted all of us to go. Four adults + a 17, 10, 5 and 2 year old. It was just shy of $3k just to get into the park. We decided to spend that $$ on a family camping trip to the Grand Canyon instead this summer.

We travel the country racing bikes, so we are very fortunate to see and do most everything we want around the USA. But my kids have never been to Disneyland. I’m anti Disney but happy wife happy life! One and done!

Everyone should go atleast once in their life no matter the cost.
We live about 10 miles from there and have been multiple times over the last 35 years.
Have fun!

The multiple pricing structure makes it a hard no for me. Paying $100 while some guy that pays $200 gets to go in front of me is b*******.

The ballers can have it.
