I'm talking house(s), cars, trucks, boats, student loans, credit cars....any debt you have.

I ran some quick figures and it would take about $380K for us.

$0.

I could pay everything off with what I currently have. Only debt is mortgages and a few grand on the truck.

Doing this makes no sense, so I soldier on.

In my mind not much. I told my dad what I owed on my house and he damn near had a heart attack. I guess it’s all relative.

The only debts we've ever had were home mortgages. Those are now paid off. We bought what we could afford. Oh, you chose to do otherwise, baller? Pay them off, they're your responsibilty. Oh, you want our government to cover some of them? Ya right, snowflake.

Ma
Yeah, that makes no sense but thanks for posting in my thread.
Makes perfect sense, you should get on the Trump train and make money like everyone else...Oh wait as others have referred to if you don’t have a job then I guess it doesn’t matter, no wonder you don’t like Trump, he helps hard working Americans not people standing with there hands out, all you stupid comments on the subject just suddenly make sense now

Didn’t ask what you could pay off. If you have a mortgage that number is not $0.

I’m amazed at how many people have paid off houses in this thread. I see a lot of people saying $0

You actually did. You asked how much would it take to be debt free. I answered your question. It would take me $0 extra dollars and 1 business day to be debt free.

I make more money with that money invested than the mortgages are costing, so there is no reason to pay them off.

2k total maybe, that's what seems to be the balance on my card every month, but that's it. Don't own a house, my work provides housing.

Currently about 265k. We are going to sell our current home to our Daughter/SIL for what we owe which is about 250k, current home market value is about 700k so we're giving them roughly 400k in cash.
In turn they are paying cash for upgrades plus cash to our other home in Lakewood which is paid off.
They are selling thier condo for 350k...they owe about 75k...puts them in a good financial position and us as well...its all about family at this point in our lives.
