How do I get this stuffing box out

Suport bearing failed and the rudder dropped. So the steering arm took out the stuffing box. Smacked it a couple times with a shotpen hammer and it didn't move.

Mapp gas torch to heat the bolts up then unscrew them from bottom or hit them out. (They are sometimes threaded in the glass) then slightly heat up actual stuffing box and use cold chisel to separate stuffing box from epoxy bed.

Damn so I have to pull the cav plates ? Was trying not too .

Heat, make a puller.
Or distructasemble it. It's bronze.

I took a 1/2 drive long socket a 4x4 and a floor jack. Heated it up and it popped right out.
