Good thing that one stick of scaffolding is there - otherwise the whole thing would have come down 😆

Is that your scissor lift. 🤦‍♂️:p

Thankfully no but I have seen similar posts and it is mine 😂

Aren’t you glad you don’t have to deal with this stuff anymore? I can’t wait for the day I don’t wake up to these deals lol

I just had one this morning that a subcontractor busted a pipe last night on a basement of a commercial job in Tennessee. The pipe flooded the basement and nine of my scissor lifts are under water, total loss 🤦‍♂️

Having been a framer for years in the high desert where the wind tends to blow like a MFer I have spent many sleepless nights listening to it howl knowing that I had a house with trusses rolled but not sheeted. Luckily only had a few mishaps over the couple decades.

Mine. Definitely a bummer but nobody was hurt, it doesn’t appear to be any major damage to the house yet and it didn’t affect any other nearby houses so definitely not the worst outcome.
Sorry to hear that. Setbacks suck, but as you said, nobody was hurt.

See, this wouldn't have happened if you built out here 🤣
(Probably because you'd still be waiting on permits )

This gave me anxiety. They just set trusses on our Havasu house yesterday, and it was blowing pretty well yesterday afternoon/evening.

Pretty sure trusses would be fine. Unfortunately, that looked to be a 2000sqft shear wall sail. Wind from the wrong angle and the strain gets massive. A single sheet of plywood or ISO board has near shoved me off a roof, with a breeze

Always something in this line of work. Hope they can get it all back up and minimal slow down on the time line.

We have a countertop change out job we started this morning. They set them and the backsplash with epoxy. A lot of it. Disconnected the faucet and both the angle stops started leaking. Having to break the granite into rubble to remove.

Other job we couldn't find the access under half the house. I could smell a sewer smell and sure enough. The area that was not accessible the drain is broke and 6" of sludge under that section of house. We tore off a siding patch and found the access. House should be torn down but they can't get rid of the tenant. Surprised it hasn't burned down. The handyman he had for 35 years just rigged everything together. He hasn't done any maintenance on any of the 10 houses he had ever. This one is in rough shape.

Those are the ugliest houses and town homes ever. I’m in the community that backs up to these.

… I was crippling up the side of a mountain up in Mammoth Lakes for a new condominium complex… maybe 1974…the cripples were 20 feet long two by sixes…Things had been going so well with the rest of the units…I got cocky I guess.. I didn’t tie these cripples together… with the whatever you call that gold colored string that carpenters carry around in their bags …like I had been doing on the other units… so of course, a slight breeze came up and it was like watching dominos fall… Every carpenter buddy that I had…and some I didn’t know…who were working at other job sites…showed up… They just stood up on the top of the hill and shook their heads…🤷🏽‍♀️..,Oh well…

Usually that's where all the news trucks are filming the cart races on windy days.

A 1/4" dowel and matio that can be fixed easily. Or just swap it out.

I need to replace a similar one this morning. Old 1 on a water heater. Didn't have a tall enough ladder last night. $18.50 at CW
