A telethon on every channel??? I realize that Haiti is going through some very tough times right now. I just can't help but think about all the homeless people in America every day that people could give a shit less about. Im sure this won't be a popular view but it's just my 2 cents. How about a telethon for America?

Now in regards to Hati it is a country built as one big giant welfare project 82% on welfare and refuse to work. I have spent time there and will tell you this is how it is you employ them they come to work when it doesnt interfer with drinking and parting or any other excuse. These people prefer to live this way companies have trired to go there but its useless and the crime is so bad they have razor wire fences around the parking lots and you still get breakins.I have spent time on the other side D.R. as well and at least a greater percent are trying but I have a hard time giving money to people whos existance is based on people giving money. Nobody gave me money; nobody paid for my school and nobody got mewhere I am but me. You cant help those that wont do for themselves and I know I am making people mad but you try training people for a job and know they might show up Mondays usually drunk and high and always disappear at lunch on Fridays this is how they are whole companies are this way. Their culture is based on work avoidance. That is why their buildings are like they are. One big project just like Detroit or any other Getto. We have turned them into a welfare relient country that is only concerned about the next handout. I know I sound bitter but you should try working with these people you can't fire them they refuse to work and if you push them they got out on disability with a doctors note. I had a whole department miss Wednesday through Friday to make moonshine. The unfortunate thing is companies that were there will never go back easier to go to Asia or India they want to work.

This is pretty much my take on the situation as well...

Bill Clinton tried to fix Haiti when he was President. The US and other countries have poured in 2 BILLION DOLLARS into that country and what do they have to show for it? NOTHING.

The country is a black hole for US Dollars. They go in there and nothing comes out. Ever.

Now we're going to see the process happening all over again. Eventually the American public will come to realize this and talk of Haiti will no longer be popular.

If I was a Haitian and wanted to have a better life I'd do what millions of Mexicans and others from south of the border do...come to the US illegally and get what I could from this great country.

Its a lot easier than that they go to the other side of the island and there is all the work they could ever want. There are resorts there are factories ther are universities there is everything we poured money into the Dominican Republic as well. There are lots of manufacturing that wasa moved from the United State to the DR and there are lots of jobs. The Haitians are plain lazy and want to do nothing but get free money and drink and smoke pot.

I've got an idea. Instead of all those Millionaire/Billionaire rock and movie stars getting up on stage and telling us to send in our hard earned money, how about THEM donating a million or so each out of their bank account.

But they'd rather make it about them and how much they care, so they get up, sing a song, and beg us for a few bucks.

If they'd just put up and shut up, I (for one) would have a whole lot more respect for them. Collectively, they could donate more in one minute than the whole telethon raised in 2 hours.

Sandra Bullock and Jessie James did just that. I'm sure others did too.
