My wife needed some links removed from a couple of her watches and some general band tightening and maintenance. So I bought a little kit off of Amazon for 12.00. Its kind of fun but I cant seem to see shit! Need one of those flup down magnafiers or a jeweler's magnifier.

Got to give it to those folks who hand make watches all day. What an art and talent. Amazing they work with, machine and assemble all those tiny parts!

I did get the bands back together but not guaranteeing they will stay that way! Haha 😂😂😂

Have a blessed day!

You need to upgrade wifey's watches.
Roley's and Omega's use screws in the bands instead of pins. 😁

I've got a few watches and like to fool around with them. These pin pliers are the ticket.

Depends what year Omega. Screw pins are relatively new.

Haha, yeah that is just a cheapo dress watch she ordered. She doesn't have a Rolex or anything of that caliber but she has a nice watch she tends to wear every day.

Women's Rolex's in stainless aren't to bad on price.

Before purchasing a Rolex, I'd recommend a Eterna automatic. My son scored a Eterna Kontiki diver 44, brand new on sale under $1000. Eterna made excellent watches before turn of the century, patented the ball bearing rotor every one else is using. The bracelet and clasp is a piece of art, links are double screwed.

I have a client that repairs grandfather clocks which is a lost art. He learned it from his grandfather but he doesn’t have any kids to pass the skills to. He’s got some interesting stories about the houses he visits for repairs.

My grandfather got bored after retirement so he learned to work on clocks. He started a repair service in north Downey Cal. around 1979 he ran from home. He built several mantel sized clocks for his families and a couple G.F. clocks too before he retired from that. I believe the clocks he built were from kits.

I just had my grandfather clock fixed. Service guy couldn’t fix it at the house so he took it apart and had Klaus fix it in the shop. Wasn’t cheap either.

If you guys like this stuff check out Repair Shop on Netflix.
Not only do they fix them, the craftsmen are watch makers. They lend their skills to all kinds of other repairs and restorations.
