Not sure if I bought the correct pump for my application , in reading it says it is a push pump . I take that to mean that tank fuel fitting on bottom of tank and pump at that level or lower ? I have this going into a jet boat with saddle tanks and top of tank fuel exits. What say you guys ? Will it work or do I need a different pump ?

I've run them on mine...saddle tanks, top pickup as well. They will draw some height, but I don't know how far or high. Mine were mounted at the transom, then separator, to the carb. Only a pretty mild 496 with a single 750 though.

You'll be fine. A holley red can be run without regulator to a carb no problem. It will draw without problem from the top of a side tank.

I always thought holly rotary pumps had to be below the minimum fuel level. They can be feed out of the top of the tank but, have to be primed first. They won't lift when dry. Is this still true?

My blue lifts, I use it to take fuel out of the boat at the end of the season, it's not supposed to but they do without an issue

I have a blue and have it set close to the bottom of the top drawn side tanks. If it sits too long, I have to prime the pump.
I disconnect the fuel line at the top of the tank and dump some gas in it, then reattach the fuel line. That is usually all that is needed.

once it’s primed, I’ve never had an issue with it.

If I remember right, the difference in the colors is the gpm. If the red can feed the gpm needed, it should be fine. Try to keep it mounted low
