Great story about Charles head shooting an enemy thru his own scope lens
Did Carlos Hathcock shoot through a scope?

Carlos Hathcock - Wikipedia

One of Hathcock's most famous accomplishments was shooting an enemy sniper through the enemy's own rifle scope, hitting him in the eye and killing him.

We average Marines trained without scopes to 600 meters. Snipers trained without scopes to 700 meters then scoped up beyond that, or less if they chose to.
Probably had a scope.
Amazing. They have their weapons from new outta the box and break them in a slow special method and treat them with special care, have ammo matched to the rifle.
There's a lot to it.
