My next couple months will be busy.

My youngest made it on Varsity for Centennial and is a starter. Will be an exciting season!! Have a nephew playing JV for los Alamitos and another starting pop Warner for Los Alamitos

Enjoy the season!

We had 7 straight years of varsity HS football with our two sons. Miss those times!

Yah. Crazy to watch. This isn’t the High School football I played.
Super impressive to start any year. As a freshman is awesome.
We watched them play for open state champs a couple years. It was vontez burdocts final year. He and the QB we’re truly next level. My son played for Chino Hills. He got called up as a freshman for the CC game. He couldn’t believe how damn big and fast the team was.
We’ll get out there to watch this season. :)

Ranked 19th in the country. Unfortunately the loss to mater dei last week hurt the ranking.

The Allen Eagles, just up the freeway from me in Plano, are starting 2019 down the list at #25. They have pretty much owned Texas 6A football in this decade, going 105-4 with 4 state championships since 2012.

The Eagles won three straight 6A championships and were named high school national champions by High School Football America in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Heisman trophy winner and 2019 #1 NFL draft pick Kyler Murray ran the offense during that period.

First time in 10 years my son is not playing football, I miss it. Your son & nephew are playing high school ball at a high level, very impressive. Enjoy the season & cherish the time, they grow up fast.

That’s exactly my mindset. The river and all that will always be there but this is such a small time period to enjoy. Everyone I know that’s been through it has told me how much they miss it.

Big time football school. I believe they are one of the few sponsored by Nike.

Good job Dad!

I love High School Football, first home game is tomorrow night.

We changed teams this year and moved over to Grace Brethren and we are now Lancers (6-8 year old division). I have gotten the opportunity to coach his team again this year and I am the defensive coordinator and we will see how my defense works on Saturday during our first game. Here is a couple shots of my son coming off the offensive line during a scrimmage with our other Mighty Might team a couple of weeks ago, he was the first one to move on the snap and was easily able to overpower the bigger defensive lineman as you can see in the pics.

He is on the far side left side of the field LT guard, his is the only helmet up

Here is the result, the defensive lineman on his back and my son looking to get to the second level and block a linebacker.

I am really proud of him as he has stepped it up this year, the competitive switch has finally turned on.

As a Texas football player who played Friday Night Lights. .. graduated 1989

I will reserve my comments on this thread until my bourbon wears off..

As a prep to my edited comments to come..

One of my cousins has 3 Superbowl rings, John Ayers, 49er
Another was the No 1 rated offensive lineman in Texas a few years ago.. google Blake Herman
My Son was not allowed to play..

I am practically crippled due to my experience with football.

Its a Brutal sport that kids play, dictated by egomaniacs, who treat, deal with your kid as an asset..and only care about there win loss record... for a 1/ 1000000000, chance of being a Professional Coach..

Please ask me how I know..

There is a reason why I Keto diet thread that out lines, losing wieght with cardio..

Both ankles qualify for replacement... and... anddd

The majority of the damage that happened to me growing up, occurred before I was 14 years old..

I played on broken ankles for years.. no I am not exaggerating...

Never trust a football coach...

Please aske me how I know...

In 4th grade Peewee... coach told me, I dont want that QB starting the 2nd Qtr.. it would cost us a few penaltys.. couple 15 ydser, a 5 yds..

As a nose guard.. I was taught to hit him square in chin before the ball was snapped...

Please ask me how I know..

If your kid shows the slightest injury, dont let the. Play...

Sorry, not to be a downer on this thread, Centiniel is one amazing team,, watched them score offensive, defensive and special teams TDs in less than 4 minutes against Murrietta Valley about 5 years ago..

Great Program, but as a person who has life disabilities due to this sport, I feel obligated to educate..

Back to John Ayers , 49er... google his name.. see what his lifespan was.. did he make it 40...?

I have lived it..

Dont put your kids in that situation

It's actually a different sport now (I know a lot of people that call it pussyball now). There is no longer helmet to chin, if it is seen you will be ejected from the game, if helmet to helmet contact is made and appears intentional that player it ejected from the game. The officials aren't kidding around as I have seen it happen several times in the last couple of years, the refs are working to save youth football and keep the kids safe.

It’s a whole different game nowadays and player protection is high on the priority list.

There’s nothing like true home town Friday night high school football. Can’t really call Mater Dei that kind of program.

Big high school football is another world, strap in and enjoy the ride. When I played ball we had the longest active winning streak in the country, #4 maxpreps, 2 state championships and I still miss it. Don't regret hanging up the cleats, but miss the camaraderie and teamwork aspect, and it's pretty cool to play underneath the lights in front of a few thousand people and sometimes on ESPN.

Yes Sir, the river will be there. I was all in, I coached JV ball while my son played Varsity. In respect to the gentleman who posted about injuries, IMO, the game changes a lot after high school. My son played JC ball at Linebacker & I started to be more concerned about injuries, specifically head, due to the speed of the game. College ball is just different, anything with a scholarship attached, simply put, is a job.
In the meantime, If you need someone to take care of that hot rod boat of yours while your at the games, I'm your Huckelberry!

There were engineering deficiencies that were exacerbated by sloppy rebar placement. These were repaired at the expense of the engineer and GC, and the stadium has been in unlimited use since then.

The incident was overblown by the media. There was never a chance the problems caused danger to the users. The stadium cost $60 million, the repairs were $4 million.

Allen and McKinney both have $60 million stadiums, and Frisco high schools play at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' new billion dollar practice and entertainment facility.

All of the football teams are pretty darn good, and they schedule tough opponents.

Friday night lights are the big time in Collin County.

We have Him set up there for this summer. he did a different camp this last summer at the recommendation of his coach.
Rubio is a class act. He coached me back in 2007/2008. Definitely worth the money, and the kid will get some great techniques from him.

We are getting throttled, our center keeps hiking the ball over the QB head (3 times) and is a huge loss of yards each time. We have a game tomorrow morning at 8am at Channel Islands High School for our first game of the season. This is my 2nd year coaching but my first year as a coordinator (defense) so a little nervous. We are out 1/2 time score.
