Well I have been all over the place trying to decide what to get. Price was a huge factor and wanted something a little bigger. I found a great deal on a 2016 Nissan Titan XD Pro 4X 5.6 gas with 18k miles.

Has keyless everything, leather, upgraded sound, has gauges for many different things like trans and oil temps, 6’6 foot bed with spray in liner, led lights in most places, 7 speed trans, brake controller, rear locker, etc etc. light years more advanced than my Tundra. We will see if it holds up like it though.

Thanks. I was looking new also but they depreciate like a mother fucker. My truck was sold new at the time for $52,000. I bought it for $35,300 with 18,000 miles. Lol

Good luck with the Titan. Did you get a Nissan extended warranty?

It was a certified so drivetrain was warranty for 7 / 100,000 miles. I think other stuff till 30,000. Not the best. I didn’t get anything extra.

Well I was not certain what was serviced so I gave this new tow vehicle some love today.

4wd comes with a little extra work. I changed out the rear diff, front diff and engine oil today. I added a fumoto valve as I did on my wife’s car recently. The Titan calls for 5k Miles oil changes so this should make them go a little faster.

One thing that was nice is the diff fill and drain plugs are all just 3/8 square standard ratchet size. The front skid plate actually makes it pretty easy to remove and put back unlike my Tundra.

I still have to change out the transfer case which Nissan says only their fluid will work. Then I have the brake fluid which is due at 20k ( again wtf with the short intervals) and I have some Amsoil going into the Tranny later.

O and it was nice having the oil filter in an easy spot right up front but found it a lot smaller compared to my Tundra.

God day in the garage. My 7 year old practically did the rear diff by himself. Funny how some people are too scared to try it on their own. Lol

And god bless silver paint. This is after two weeks and multiple rainy days.

Its nuts! We were looking at a used 2017 Suburban 4x4 Premiere last week. Had 22k miles and was $44,900. That truck was close to $80k new.

You will be happy with the Nissan. I have owned several and all of them have been worry free.

So far I’m pretty happy with the truck. Although babying the gas pedal all week to work and home netted me about 16mpg. Pretty fucking horrible. Lol

But the savings on the truck at the time of purchase makes me not care. I new that going in though. When you have a 5.6 liter motor being put in a truck that is I think around 6500 lbs. that’s gonna happen.

Yeah the Nissan's are definitely not known for their miles per gallon. I think we average about 14.8 around town.

Please tell me where you saw a used 2017 Suburban 4x4 Premiere for $44,900 - is it a certified used vehicle?

How is it compared to the old Toyota?

I saw a 2017 1500 just like I got for $35K with 45k miles on it. Felt good knowing I paid less than 3k more new.

Surprisingly the Titan XD is smoother on the road. Less bumps and vibration transferred into the cab. A lot quieter. The steering doesn’t wander as much as the Tundra.

The Tundra’s turning radius was much better. The Tundra is much snappier and felt like it carried the weight of the Tundra better than the Titan. The Tundras 6 speed transmission shifted a lot and I hardly notice the Titan’s 7 speed.

I really miss the reclining rear seats in the Tundra. The kids don’t seem as comfortable back there now. Still a large cab though with more storage options.

The keyless start/door opening is awesome. The heated seats and steering wheel are pretty nice. I am already using it in 50 degree weather.

So far only negatives are the mpg and it pulls slightly to the right. Nissan said it didn’t pull to the right and was within spec. [emoji849]

An independent shop aligned it which made it much better but now but there is still a slight wander which bothers me.

I talked to a few guys running the Nissan vans with 5.6. Complaints were mainly the fuel mileage and small tank needing to be filled every 200 miles. HVAC guy has the smaller V6 van and said it gets great mpg.
