Will definitely hit the boneyard, maybe ride down to Bisbee and Tombstone. I want to stay downtown, could use some advice on this. Areas not to go would be nice. Please share your thoughts!šŸ˜Ž

My only experience with Tucson is a big job I have going on in the South west side, I was surprised how ghetto it is. I have been told the east side is where you want to be.

We always stay downtown because we are there to see my kid perform at one of the music venues.

The AC hotel is one of the best options for a traditional hotel.

We have stayed at hotel congress which is historic and quirky, but the live music or DJ will be going on until 1-2 am.

We do various air BnB, but they are old and quirky. Some value can be had though price wise.

There really is no peace and quiet downtown if itā€™s going off with music, clubs and college students.

Elliotā€™s on congress is a burger and beer joint with the best prices in happy hour.

Next door to Elliotā€™s is Empire pizza. They sell by the slice, no idea if itā€™s good but I always go there late night to try to soak up some booze. There is a brewery in the back of empire and you can order a whole pizza and take it back there. Itā€™s probably not great pizza and even though I have had half a dozen of them I thought they were great but the next morning I normally regret eating it.

Hotel Congress/club congress is cool if live bands are playing. There is a jazz club on the west corner of the hotel that can be great. If you can get in without a reservation grab a cocktail like an old fashioned.

Lots of banging roof top clubs full of college kids which I have never been into but the scenery is very good from what I see standing in line waiting to get in.

Just north of downtown, but walking distance is El Charro cafe, which is good Mexican, good margaritas, priced accordingly for a downtown restaurant with a good reputation

Of course the realto theater if you have tickets for a show, one of my favorite smallish venues with top marquee talent. I saw Gary Clark Jr there and it was killer.

I have been to all the breweries and they are good with occasional live music.

191 toole is a club just north of congress walking distance and can have some good bands if you know when to go

Downtown or University area for good food and safe environment.
if you want higher end food, head up Oracle, North if River towards Oro Valley.
I would spend very little time in Tombstone, and more in Bisbee.
Air museum, Titan Missile site, Mt Lemmon, Sabino Canyon.

Titan Missile site is really cool, very crazy to see the size of that missile silo. If you go to Tombstone, take the tour of the mine. I wasn't going to but the wife insisted and glad I did.

Iā€™d just keep going. Never have liked Tucson. Interstate 10 going through is a never ending story of construction. Tombstone is pretty cool to see though. The old saloons still have bullet holes in the ceiling but the shootouts scenes they do are pretty hokey but touristy I guess. TDā€˜s Showclub was the place when I was working on Mt Lemmon back in the day. We worked 4 tens and played golf and went to the strip joint the other days. One of the guys asked me why I didnā€™t get a lap dance. I replied ā€œ the table is the size of a frisbee and if I canā€™t touch Iā€™ll just watch yoursā€.

Tanque Verde area is super cool. All the way at the east end of speedway there is Tanque Verde guest ranch that you may be able to go to for dinner.

If you are downtown try charro steak, Reillys pizza, or the monica for food. Downtown Tucson has changed so much in the last few years. Not as ghetto as it used to be. As for fun things just depends on what youā€™re looking to do.

Go down to 6th Ave and have a couple Mexican hot dogs and a coke.

The Sonora Desert Museum is a great place to spend a good part of the day.
