Me and a few friends did on BMX Bikes, we were past curfew and also thought we could lose them and were wrong... Lol, we were 15. The cops were cool, we only got Curfew tickets.

Yep. Street racing at 17, the radio caught me, they blocked off an intersection.

No license for 1 year.

This is back when cop cars made a horrible whistle when they floored it and all of 140? horsepower.

The cop we outran was impressed as he drove me to jail "what you got in that thing?" "you sure left us behind".

Firebird 0, Motorola 1.

Successful attempts or attempts in general?
I may or may not have done one or the other...in possibly one or more counties.

The trick may have been to ease the corners, and then squeeze the hell out of the bottle on the next straight...turn and repeat...hope the bottle has enough to get you out before the ghetto bird was up πŸ˜‚

We need to consider the time period for context.

Have some pretty fond memories of running/hiding from cops in the thick woods of the pacific northwest at night when they would break up gravel pit parties. They even brought in the local coast guard helicopter one time to try and round us up because we were such menaces out there minding our own business an hour away from any civilization. It became a game of cat and mouse picking party spots and trying to not get caught. It was really pathetic on the part of law enforcement that they thought it was worthy of breaking up a party and chasing teenagers into the darkness. Most of us were athletes and it was pretty easy to out run the out of shape cops with their belts/gear on. The shitty part was waiting until you were dead sober to come out of the woods and try and catch a ride back to town so as to not get an MIP (minor in posession). Always got a ride into parties so they couldnt tow my truck (or call my parents) if it got broke up. Growing up was rad. I cant imagine kids nowadays have a fraction of the fun or experiences we had, but all generations probably say that. The really cool part is for all the stupid stuff we did, no one ever got hurt/killed, and not one person in our group of friends ever drove intoxicated.

Used to do it all the time between Lake Arrowhead and Running Springs back in the 90's. I was taught to drive by old school chp officers who were buddies with my dad. So when one of their co-workers would give chase, it was on. Always got away with it. The Sheriff's Department would recognize our trucks and just look the other way for a long time. They were too embarrassed to give chase and loose us another time and risk getting chewed out.

That one time we almost got screwed...
A day after golf, had a few beers, underage etc... The Chippy sitting a hundred yards away from hwy 18 and live oak drive didn't appreciate my buddy (Frahm Dodge) blowing that stop sign. He gave chase and we obliged him to a 15 minute run around town and went to our girlfriends house (we were dating sisters). Unfortunately the officer chasing us was the officer who lived across the street and was also dubbed "The Axe Murderer" by his fellow officers 😳...
In short of hilarious, He came up in a full skid and was fuckin pissed! We were already on the second story deck and couldn't place us in the truck. I believe his words were "If you don't put an anchor on this fucking boat, I'm going to sink it!" 🀣

Ran from them on dirt bikes and was successful. Ended up late to my brother’s wedding (I was the best man).

Ran from them at the old Etiwanda x Mission BLVD street races in Ontario / Jurupa and got caught. They let all of the Ford and Chevy guys go and ticked all of the rice rockets. Good thing I was in my Ford.

6 months ago on a dirt bike a Ranger in a truck thought he was giving me a ticket, he was wrong, two friends made the mistake of stopping and got tickets. We’ve always said if someone tries to pull us over we’re not stopping and for some reason they changed their minds, a decision they now regret.

Man, you nailed the timeline.

Lol
We were pulling that shit in the 70’s!
I had a tricked out Yamaha 250 MX and my brother had a Suzuki.
We never got caught, we used to ride them to school
I’d jump the roads right in front of the cops, half the time they wouldn’t even look twice.

Same here. Out ran them on dirt bikes a few times. It was an absolute blast for a young teenager at the time.
One night we got rolled up on by a cop in a gravel pit and he chased us. The pit was in Pa along the Delaware river (the river divides Pa and New Jersey) but my bike was always stored at our river property and 2 buddies were from Jersey. We were heading to the train bridge to cross the river when the cop approached. We easily beat him to the bridge and that was cool. We high tailed it home and I stashed my bike in the shed asap. My parents were there waiting for me to drive back to our home in Pa for the night- maybe a 15 minute drive max. I was still kind of scared but didn’t want to tell them what happened. I just said we should head home right now. Fast forward to the next day I got a call from one of the guys and he said the New Jersey cops were waiting at his (parents) house when he got there. He spent the night in jail.
The amazing part was that apparently the PA and NJ cops knew who he was and coordinated to get him that night.

Motorcycle off road and on road
Snowmobile on road lol
Boat
Only time I got caught was in my 67 camaro drag racing in a mall parking lot. Cops blocked the entrance.
My next door neighbor was a cop and when he showed up he talked the other cop out of drag racing to keep me out of jail.
We all got reckless driving tickets and beat them in court
Funny part about that is my cop neighbor is the one I ran from on the snowmobile and he pulled me over for speeding in my 68 firebird.
Then we became hunting buddies and went out all the time for pheasant and rabbit

You just shared my story almost verbatim. That was a typical Friday night in high school.

Not on purpose. Kawi triple, pulled in the driveway, heard β€œbuuwaaahhh” from the Qjet, saw the fuzz in a hurry in the same general direction I may have been heading. Oops.

Most of the times the cops didn't really think it was worth it growing up in a ruralish area with paved roads mixed in. We just go, we ran a lot. Being in your element gives you the advantage.

Then I started racing MRAN, and had custom number plates with my name on them. My friend and I got rolled by a ranger in Boulder City, my buddy looked at me like let's go man, both of our bikes were shutoff when we got popped. I told him no, because of my plate. The ranger ended up being cool because of it, told us to keep it 25mph back to the dry lake bed, and there will be no more problems. I was glad, because of my plates on my bike they would have been able to figure it out pretty quick.

Back in my street bike days it was damn near a daily occurrence. Always coming home late from a girlfriends house. I had a couple switches wired in to kill the brake and tail lights, another to kill the headlight. Kill the lights, dive off the freeway, take another route home. No big deal at the time but now looking back , stupid to say the least.

As a kid I was about 30-1 on a moto X bike.

Not from speeding on streets but just riding (and slowly so as not to piss everyone off) a motocross bike on the streets just to get to the riding area.

At the end of the era the guy was waiting across town in my driveway.

Twice, successfully both times
Running down freeway, 100 mph in a 55, pass a trooper, watch him go up over the median, flip to my side, just as I was doing the same. I was directly across from an exit ramp when I flipped the other way . I saw him again in my mirror on the ramp going like crazy trying to find me - he didn’t see my marks in the grass, probably thought they were his from a previous time LOL!
Running down the freeway in 68 vette, 1977, 3 a.m., 125 mph, no one around. I see headlights GAINING ON ME! I knew it was a trooper, took it to the floor, he disappeared. Got off @ the next rest area, killed the lights, saw him go by a WOT. Slept there for an hour, went speed limit home.
I was young, bullet proof, would never do either now, haven’t done it since.
I did get caught in a radar trap - trooper stepped out in the freeway and pointed to pull over behind several other offenders. I don’t wait in line to get a ticket. He jumped in, chased me down, pulled gun on approach. Asked me what the hell I was doing - told him I don’t wait in line for tickets. He wrote it for the max, $150.00, followed me the next 100 miles 10’ off my bumper at 54 mph !!

Yes, about 5 years ago in my f150. On the toll road 241. I was going about 110 racing a buddy. Passed a cop under a bridge and floored it to the next exit. Got up to about 140 or so. Took the exit to the Walmart shopping center. He never saw which way I went. Hung out in Walmart for hours lol

Once in High School, cop chasing us I thought I knew all the through streets as opposed to the cul-de-sacs, turned into a dead-end, pulled into a long driveway towards the garage, shut off the lights, and did remember to take my foot off the brakes! Flashed his spotlight around and took off.πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

Yes, back when I was in middle school. 4 of us playing with fireworks behind Peter Piper Pizza in Scottsdale. Cops turned corner and someone in the group said run. 3 of us ran like hell, jumped a couple 8’ block fences and were gone free and clear. Then we realized our 4th was slow and did not make it to the wall. We ended up circling back and he was being detained. We ended up walking to the cops and turning ourselves in and had to call our parent to come get us. Parents were pissed and we were questioned due to a fire that started 1/2 mile from where we were at. I think I was grounded for a month after that

Yes in the late 70's and into the 80's all on a bike's dirt & street Rice Rockets, never caught 😁

Also in HH water skiing behind a whaler and then driving under a bridge where they couldn't continue and hiding along a seawall.

Now I just pull over and assume the position 😲

Riding home from an Angels game 20 plus years ago at night on a CBR1000 I got lit up by HB's Airship as I was riding down Bolsa Chica towards Warner Ave. I slowed down and continued to my neighborhood in HB. While the Airship was doing orbits around my home street, I open my neighbor's garage and parked my bike. My neighbor allowed me to store my bike in his garage as he was never home and liked me to keep an eye on his place. While the airship was on the backside of his orbit, I walked to my car parked in my driveway 3 doors down. I got in my car as I had to go pick the kids up from the sitter. I was driving down the street when HB units finally arrived. Next morning everyone on my street wanted to know why the PD helicopter wad been lighting the street up.
