Where is a safe hotel to stay at for about a week?

Whats the areas to totally avoid?

No need to get jacked just trying to do some work......

Any advice would be helpful.....leaving later today

Thanks in advance

We stayed at the Embassy Suite just east of downtown a couple of years ago for the balloon festival. Wasn't terrible. Lots of balloon people stayed there. 24 hr security cruising the parking lot.
Walked my mutz at all times of day and night. Didn't see any Zombies on property. Free breakfast and happy hr were 👍🏻

Sure, but with 2 of these who would mess with you then? 😂

I like Casino's if the area is sketchy, do it all the time. Once you park your car no need to leave the property, security keeps the riff raff out and everything I need is on site. Usually good food, some sort of entertainment and clean and nice inside.
I get it......prefer non casino

I towed a boat back from Co. Springs and stayed the night at a really nice bed and breakfast in Corrales. I got in late running through a terrible monsoon. Owners stayed up and helped me put the boat inside their walled property. Its rural but close to town

I cant recall the name or if its still there but its an option Id do again and Im not a fan of B&B

Be sure to get a burrito at Modelos in Albuquerque under the freeway, you won’t regret it. If you’re looking for sit down, go to Tomasitas.

OK....So I am going to just pull in and find a safe place by checking them out. Which part is safest-quietest if you had to choose? Easy, West, South or North of DT?

ABQ isn't that big of a city, so drive times shouldn't me an issue no matter where you stay. The area around Coronado Center mall was always OK, there is also a really nice hotel at the airport. The farther north of I-40 you get the more affluent the area. Rio Rancho is pretty much any suburb you'll find.

I probably wouldn't recommend staying anywhere on Central, but there are some great places to eat along that street.

We used to stay at the Ho-Jo north of the 40 a few miles when I worked out there years back. I think our crews stay at the Staybridge Suits now, but we always end up with someone having an issue. Couple of years ago my boss woke up to some fuck stick cutting the cats out of his truck. Unfortunately, you're just going to have to stay alert. Good luck!

I am in ALB a few times a year and I have a gent that manages that area for me out of Phoenix, he is there every 1/4. Never had an issue and we use the Marriott Properties, download Bonvoy app if you don't have it, close to the air port has always been pretty good for us. They have the Townplace Sweets that I believe have a small kitchen.

I know you said no but........casino. When you go to your room, take your car registration with you. Hotel parking lots are more dangerous than walking down the street.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa. Not all that cheap, and $40/night resort fee, but stayed there last summer with the wife and it was great. Super quiet, there's an adults only pool, walking trails right from resort. It was damn near empty when we stayed. Good variety of restaurants on Highway 550 near hotel.

I've also stayed at Marriott Albuquerque and SpringhHill Suites Albuquerque University multiple times with no incidents. A bit sketchier than the Hyatt Resort area though.

I live in Albuquerque...
The Corrales suggestion is excellent. There are some excellent restaurants and it's a cool little village.
Tamaya as well...is o.k.
Sandia Casino would be my choice even tho you're against anything Casino.
Stay out of downtown or anything Westside...sucks.
Kills me to say,but...
Unfortunately Albuquerque has turned into kind of a liberal shithole.
Northeast heights would be a good choice.
Lemme know where you end up and I can suggest nearby restaurants.

...Lemme know if you need anything.

Tamaya is nice. It's a couple miles from my Dad's house, and we usually stay there.

Ron...how's your father doing?
I spoke to him for 30 minutes yesterday. He's getting worse, Mike. He repeats stories, loses thoughts, and rambles. Physically he's able to use a four wheel walker and sometimes two canes. My sister has to help him with clothes.

I just go with the flow. He likes talking to me, so I stay on as long as he wants. I just hope the end is peaceful and not too difficult for my sis.

One good thing is that Jimmy Mangham sent a crew over last week and finally the roof is properly repaired. He did it for free, and I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. He's been a great friend for over 50 years.

I’ve stayed at the Sheraton next to the airport several times and haven’t seen anything sketchy around there. Need a keycard to get in to the parking lot so it’s semi-secured in that respect.
