So we are taking an 8 day vacation to Havasu in a couple weeks. We have been there a handful of times but have done the majority of our boating in Parker. I just want to get some ideas of different things to do out there and places to see.

Since we are going to be there for 8 days I really don't plan on running the boat all day every day, so it would be nice to find some good spots to the beach the boat, kind of away from the crowds a little bit. We have three kids, ages 9, 13 & 14.

What do you guys got? Restaurants? Coves or beaches for boat? "Must See" places? Something else? Any advice or info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

In 8 days I think you'll have plenty of time to figure Havasu out! I get bored after 3.

Go South towards the Parker Dam for the best family friendly areas. Lots of coves with picnic tables/cabanas. Be sure to drop your cash in the box if you plan on staying awhile, even for day-use.

Take the boat to Laughlin for a day for a different scene.

Shugrue's is the best restaurant in town, don't let anyone tell you different :D. Ask Tony at the bar to make you a Mai Tai.

Definitely go to Havasu Springs for lunch and stop by the Parker Dam and take a dip before and after. Lots of coves you can check out on your way over there. Take your time and enjoy.

South to Havasu Springs for breakfast and a bloody mary. Take a ride all the way up north into the river and hit one of the beaches between Park Moabi and Jack Smith.

The times that we have been, this is typically what we do. Usually launch out of Jack Smith[emoji106]🏻

The Nauticle sell day passed to hang out at their pool. I think they are ten bucks. If you haven't seen the pool area I recommend checking it out. They have a bar and food service. It could get expensive depending on how much you drink. It is a nice break from not having to be the boat captain and get your drunk on.

Definitely head South!!

This is a well known spot and our favorite place to beach, especially during the week. The cove is outstanding for waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. It is also a quick drive to Havasu Springs for lunch. A lot of nice shade in the mid morning through lunch time and a great sandy beach for the kids.

This is another great spot that we like to hang at. There is sand to beach your boat or you can anchor. Swim across the little channel and there is some great cliff jumping. Amazing views from the top of the hill and a bathroom for the kids in case they have to go #2 :D

They don't charge for the use of the pool anymore. At least I haven't paid in a few years. Just can't bring a ice chest in.

Awesome, then the first spot (Standard Wash) is perfect for that. As you can see, the cove is off the main lake and you have a big area to run counter clockwise. I have always felt safe in that cove, enough to waterski without an observer most of the time. Outstanding spot for the family.

Pretty sure the slide is out of service. They have a splash pad though.

Thanks bro. You even drew me a "dummy" map. Lol. I need it. That's definitely on the "to do" list. Mama and kids are digging that spot. Super cool[emoji106]🏻

Scapegoat probably meant "Gene Wash Cove" on the Calif side. It is near where the power lines cross the lake and the huge pipes go up the Calif bank above Parker Dam. Good family spot, lots of rocks for the kids to jump from. Just south of there is Havasu Springs. Outer harbor good snack eats and drinks, very casual (swim suits). Go a little further to Inner Harbor, more good eats (lunch or dinner style) and drinks, and not quite as casual.

Enjoy !

Eight days is a long time in havasu. I would suggest you head to Mohave for a day and stay in Laughlin for the night. The rates midweek are cheap. Have fun.

Eight days IS a long time in Havasu, so we are planning on bouncing around the different lakes/rivers while we're out there. We'll probably head to Parker for a day also and launch there, have lunch, float and head back

On a real hot afternoon it is nice to go the movies up at the new movie theaters by Wall Mart.

When it is hot we normally go into the gorge because the water is cooler and it is nice scenery. We will stop at Pirates Cove during the week for late lunch.

Since Saturdays can be busy on the water, maybe a morning road trip up to Oatman, AZ; stop at the Safeway a get a big bag of carrots first. Come back in the afternoon and walk the channel; nothing like kicking puberty into high gear !!!

Saturday evening, take the fishing poles down to Site Six and fish off the pier; there's always the "launch ramp follies" going on as well. Little throwback stripers but the kids will enjoy the action...

Our favorite beach is at the top of the Gorge, just before you exit the No Wake Zone...

Has this backside pond for the kids to play in...at least it did 5 years ago...:(

Lots of great stuff. Thank u
I had to find out why the carrots to Oatman?? Googled it haha...that's pretty wild that the burros just roam the streets. Kids would get a kick out of that, well maybe my youngest, my oldest might just want to hang in the channel all day[emoji16]

Nothing like having the channel to yourself. We like skipping rocks in the channel (when there are no boats present) and see who can get it all the way across. Enjoy your vacation.

Funny. That was the first thing we did. Kids hopped out of the boat and grabbed a handful of rocks and started skimming[emoji106]🏻
Too many boats now so that stopped. Haha

It's perfect!!! Having a blast. Not too long now, and you'll be on the water

Heck yeah! I can't wait! I haven't been since DS and I don't think I will be until the boat is done next month. Drink a beer for me and enjoy your time out there.
