Heading into town for the weekend.
- What are the best local riding spots? We’re not street legal so it’ll limit a few.
- Is the desert bar still open?
- Does the Heat have trailer parking?

Desert Bar is open till the end of the month. Not sure about trailer parking at the Heat, but I have seen trailers parked near their upper lot. I would call and ask.

i wouldnt be super concerned over the street legal thing. Just stay low profile. Im going somewhere tomorrow, not sure the distance. Maybe dez bar and back. Im hitting the boat show in the show in the A.m, then my son and I are hitting the dirt. Let me know what your planning, I hate going alone for safety reasons.

I'm confused on what sticker you will need in the Lake Havasu Blvd area with all of the construction, maybe a mud sticker.

If not street legal, I wouldn't see any reason to unload and ride from the Heat unless you are just gonna be out on the island near Crazy Horse. My gut feeling on that tho still says you would need to be on streets to get to that area and kinda a high profile area and could be at risk for LEO's to stop you.

A short ride, A day ride, solo or with friends? I wont go very far into desert without another sxs or farther than I wanna walk back. A day ride with a destination, I would say, the back way to Desert Bar.

I have heard the plate for off road only and dual purpose is the same plate??? I would think they would only know if they ran your plate?

Different plates. The one with mc means you can drive 100% street. It cost me just over $500 four months ago.
The other means you can cross the street or go dirt street dirt legally. Its about 100 bucks i think.

If your parked at a bar, store, restaurant and the plate is not mc that means you shouldnt really be there.
That ticket is about 700 bucks

I have an MC plate but don't pay that much, I think mine is just to cross but they would have to run it to know. Debating on changing it but will wait until after the summer to decide.

AZ plate is same, its the stickers on the plate that identify OHV & or MVD tag (one plate, two stickers).

I’m with you. My wife even more so. She hates going along. We hit the show today. We’re wide open tomorrow

You need to pay the off-road first then street. It’s pretty well-known not sure how you didn’t find out.Should’ve been no more than like 35 bucks

This Works OK for around town it allows you to drive from your home to the dirt. If you’re not being an asshole I don’t think most local cops will even look at you. But if you decide to drive down to Home Depot on the highway and DPS sees you it might be a different story.

I have the 2 seater. Its under 1800, barely.

Im pretty sure theres no way around the higher cost plate. Bought in cal, registered in az. Im not going to risk a ticket or getting pulled over. Toys always cost something

If you look at the charges I'll bet you find a one time tax for Mohave county. I used a service in Parker (La Paz County) to handle registration/sales tax on my YXZ bought out of state and after a few weeks I got a bill for $340.00 from Mohave Co. (I think). I live in Havasu and MC plate with both stickers is $30.00.

As far as rides, I live on the south end of town and last weekend I went out Challenger to dirt and through Standard around the backside of the hills behind LHC and came back in to town at the airport. You can stay on the dirt through Bison and hit pavement in Donkey Acres. Nice little loop but no place to stop for food/drink until you get back into town.
