Is it ok to use a quick release pin on the top and bottom of the ram, or should you stick with a bolt in the bottom?
If your battery died Couldn’t you just apply power to the poles on the back of the switch with a jump box or a power tool battery or whatever you have on hand.Pins are fine..
I would add some jump poles somewhere outside of the engine bay god forbid your batteries die you can still open the hatch and start the boat etc
I'm pretty sure that comment just made a couple lights bulbs go off in some heads. If your battery died Couldn’t you just apply power to the poles on the back of the switch with a jump box or a power tool battery or whatever you have on hand.
Then you’re lifting the ram and wiring up with the hatch.I think usually it’s the bottom that has the pin so you can reach through and pull it out if your battery dies
Yea at the top for the reason of the wiring. I just did both on mine as i like to be able to completely remove the ram when in the bilge working on one side or the other. Then you’re lifting the ram and wiring up with the hatch.
Pin goes at hatch/ram connection.

Do we have to ask "how do you know". Great tip.A little helpful hint : If you have a release pin and access panel , don’t close your hatch as tight as possible , you won’t be able to pull pin . Close it and just tap open button a little bit , now you can easily pull pin .
