Interesting video....

I'm not sure it has anything to do with the Tariffs...but more to do with the fact that Vegas is an outrageously priced shithole.

The first year I went to the AAPEX show (3 years ago?)...I think I spent $1000 on food/parking/and a room for one night at Harrahs (a premier shithole).

All the vendors that I already deal with I don't need to see out there, all the ones I didn't yet deal with but wanted to were all busts when I attempted to contact them in the following weeks....phone numbers on the brochures were no good, emails bounce back...just kinda shitty. I gained absolutely nothing from it.

The next year I flew out in the AM and flew home that night, but still wasn't able to accomplish anything other than getting sore feet.

Tariffs don't matter (in this case), people still need to buy stuff....we're not just gonna stop buying stuff because it's all 15% or so more expensive.

I think that people are finally realizing that a fucking phone call accomplishes more in less time for free and the shows are just a big waste of time and money.

Swear it’s in my preferences. 2nd trip in 30 days and almost same view. Last year my room was on the 3rd floor. I looked out and could just see AC units.
Room for the builders show😂

Builders Show. Definitely worth it. There’s always a ton of contractor solutions. Hardware show is good if you’re a small retailer or small supplier. The larger companies see anything new before the show.

I hate trade shows as a buyer, kind of for the opposite reason that was mentioned earlier, for months afterwords I get bombarded by sales calls. Makes it a chore. And then the travel and spending 2-3 days in a mid-level hotel eating shit food and playing the salesman games of "I'll take you out for dinner and make believe you are my new best friend".

I'd rather just surf a few websites and have the sales people come to us, at least I get to spend the night in my own bed.
